Sarr officially in transfer portal

Go get him...

Would be nice, but it sounds like some KY fans already pushed him a bit too much. Also no guarantee he can even play next year if he transfers. I have a feeling he ends up staying at Wake when it's all said and done.

I read that article as all pretty positive. Although after the most recent silliness with Haarms and others where it seems a no brainer that UK should be the pick, I am not gonna get my hopes up.

However, should Cal be able to pull this one off, this puts UK in a better position than almost any other scenario that could’ve played out. Sarr looks to be better than any other prospect or transfer and certainly better than EJ. Only think that could rival Sarr would have been getting big Nick back IMO.

So here’s to hoping Cal can pop on the jet and get this kid in blue. I also didn’t read the UK Twitter fans as being an overly negative experience for the kid. If you don’t want to be a rock star and in the limelight you prolly aren’t gonna be happy here. Good or bad that’s just the way it is.

Reading that article it seems like the guy knows what he wants. Said he wants to go a winning school., but he would also give their new coach a chance. So he's leaving the door open but if he got a good situation sounds like he would be leave.

"My drive is winning," he said. "Everybody knows there's been some tough years with Wake. I tried my best individually to improve and work on my game, but really, in the next program I'm looking for a winning program. A winning team with ambition. A team that plays with intensity."

Also, he's not sitting out. So if he doesn't get that waiver he's waiting.

"I don't know," Sarr said. "I could go pro, play one year in the EuroLeague, somewhere to get ready for the NBA. There's no way I sit out."

People can cry about the Kentucky fans “harassing him” but I seriously wonder if he even enters the transfer portal without Kentucky fans begging him to come.

If he lands here, and that’s a big IF, I would say Kentucky fans recruited him before Cal did.

This is the interesting part. He's not going to know about his waiver status when he commits to a school. So he could commit somewhere and end up never playing.

So you think he was planning to stay at Wake Forest and then all of a sudden he got a bunch of tweets from UK fans and thought, "Hmm...actually now I am going to transfer"?!?!

And we wonder why people think UK fans are insane and are a "bit much".

Well. If he wants a winning school, he won’t be here. Cal is not winning another title, he’s lost recruiting, coaching and personal skills. He just yells.

Or so I keep reading

I think seeing the excitement from a different fan base got him thinking, absolutely.

Was it probably too much? I’m sure it was most Kentucky fans are. I still think the kid got excited by getting that type of reception from a fan base he probably didn’t realize knew he existed.
