Craigs son is now a Ram. Congratulations to him but I had no idea he played for Kansas State I thought he was still at u6. How’d I miss that

I wonder how much better off he would be had he come to UK. While I understand his dad's frustration with other things, it should've never been such a driving force in his son's life or recruitment. Did UK only want his son as a DB, or was it just dad's issues that kept him away?

From what I remember Russ & his dad wanted him to play DB in college, because at the time the NFL only highly valued WR who were 6'1 and up.

Trends change, now barely 5'8 Wandale was a high 2nd rounder.

Seems like I also read here (or elsewhere?) that the elder Yeast was possibly lobbying for a coaching gig during his son’s recruitment, but that may have been unfounded rumor.

I too wonder how it would’ve been for him in Lexington. It's always cool to see legacy kids play well, but maybe in the end, it was for the best that He went elsewhere.

Definitely a lot of rumors the Yeast family thought Craig should have been more heavily considered as a WR coach on the Stoops staff

That's what I thinking of, but just couldn't remember the specifics. Thank you

Craig applied for the job of receivers coach and did not get an interview. He felt disrespected since he was an alumni that held many receiving records and had coaching experience (not D1). He did not encourage Russ to decommit from UK but Russ didn’t feel comfortable going to a school that he also felt had disrespected his father . These are what I know as facts because I know the family. Whether or not they were right to feel disrespected is debatable. Personally, I think Stoops already knew he was going to hire Lamar Thomas and didn’t give other applicants serious consideration. I believe it was an oversight.

Corker isn't as fast as Yeast is all I can figure. You need speed when you're chasing someone from behind. If you're Corker, your answer is you don't let em get behind you.

After Russ got hurt, he wasn’t able to play corner. He looked really bad his last year at UL, but DB’s usually do look the worst on a bad defense.

All of that sounds plausible to me

I'm there with you Bill! I had no idea he played at KState. Still think he made a mistake not going to UK.
