I don't want to dump on any player; however, I would like to see Jefferson get a few more carries and action, and McClain a little less. McClain just doesn't ever seem to see the hole or make the right cuts, plus he really doesn't have much of a burst. Jefferson may not be better, but by this time it is obvious McClain isn't. I think LaVell Wright is actually a better runner than McClain. I know coaches talk about blocking and all the other stuff involved in the position. But, if you hand them the danged ball you don't have to worry about that. If I remember correctly, Derrick Locke was about a fifth string running back buried on the depth chart until injuries dictated he play. Once he got in, we found out he was pretty darned good!!! But, without those injuries we may not have known. I don't see what it would hurt to give the other backs a few carries and see what they can do. Just my thoughts.
