I'd rather not drive to Texas but UK/IU would be interesting. UK/Duke would get a lot of publicity because of they Bball angle.

Of all those, I also like the Independence Bowl against Duke the best. The second best would be the Taxslayer Bowl against Minnesota in Florida. I don't like the first three mentioned at all. A game in Texas against Oklahoma St. One in North Carolina against NC State. The other in Birmingham against Memphis. All of those are in favorable locations for our would be opponents. I don't think a game in Texas between IU and UK would sell very well and unless people want revenge, I don't really care for playing Pitt.

I am still hoping we have a much better season and can go to at least the Peach or Outback Bowls at the minimum. If we get into a lesser bowl I would rather just go back to the Music City Bowl again. The location is great for us and we would face an ACC opponent. Like I said though, I am hoping for much better still.

We were 5-1 last year and didnt make a bowl...can we at least wait until we get to 6 please...i think we get 8 but can we at least get 6

Both IU and Duke as opponents would generate big pub.

No comparison. We still have Vandy and Charlotte in second half while last year second half was much more difficult. Also uk already beat Missouri and won a SEC road game both which they failed to do last year.

Peach Bowl would be huge. It is a committee selected bowl now isn't it?

Yes. That would likely take 10-2.
I think it's important to remember how things tend to work regarding the "bigger" bowls that so many seem to want to set as a benchmark of achievement for the team.

UK is going to have to really, really crush it down the stretch to advance beyond Music City Bowl. The reason being is that there is a level of arrogance that exists amongst the bowl committees above the MCB that they all seem more interested in elevating or pimping their bowl's profile by placing a "name" into that bowl regardless as to whether that team has had a more deserving performance.

The MCB is the line where the SEC "elites" view participation as being a major disappointment. Those program lobby hard to get a slot above this and one example of this is when Auburn promised the Outback Bowl that they purchase 40k + tickets for the 2010 game when it seemed to be a choice between UK, UT and Auburn (if I remember correctly).

So, make no mistake, UK has to either have had a BRILLIANT season, need to have a friendly influential bowl committee member or just get lucky as hell in order to get an invite beyond the MCB.

So you are saying 8 wins or less and Music City Bowl is the cap?

I think the MCB is the best fit for the fanbase if we couldn't get a NYD bowl game (unlikely). I realize Texas or Florida are warmer locations, but the ticket sales (depending on other team) are going to be extremely poor to those venues. I would expect a big turnout for the MCB and a Power 5 opponent (Big Ten/ACC...not sure which is going to MCB this year) would be fun. I know the weather is a crap shoot, but I think the fans would turn out. The Liberty or Birmingham bowl is crap

I didn't realize the Peach Bowl was that high now. With us not going to bowls lately, I haven't been keeping up with the postseason as much. It used to be a small step up from the MCB if I remember correctly. I just saw that the Outback was right about the MCB.

They had Alabama dropping all the way down to the Outback Bowl on an ESPN bowl prediction I just looked at. That is 1 spot ahead of us where we are predicted to go to the MCB. Anyone know if they can still select teams with one less win over the team that is directly above them in order of the best records in conference? I believe that is how we got the Outback Bowl last time over I think Georgia. They went to the Peach Bowl, which was a lesser bowl back then, if I am not mistaken.

Think I read the MCB takes a SEC team designated by the conference. Then the ACC/B10 alternate years sending a representative to the MCB and the Taxslayer Bowl.

OOPS!!!! ^^^^^ Last year----- "TCU (11-1) takes on Ole Miss (9-3) in the Peach Bowl, one of the "New Year's Day Six" bowls that make up the top tier of college football's revamped postseason."

I think UK will be in a SEC tie in bowl. So I don't see the Armed Forces bowl as possibility. If UK gets to 7 wins I think it will be the Taxslayer Bowl.

Anything but Birmingham works for me because that bowl is at noon on a Wednesday. I didn't wait five years for a bowl game just to have it be on during work.

Bowl prestige aside , I would rather be in Florida that time of,year than Birmingham. So bring on the tax slayer bowl for me. Right now I'd take Detroit or a Bowl game in Bangor, Maine it comes with extra practice time and that's important for what Coach Stoops is trying to do long term. At this point better bowls are still in play .

Out back is not out of reach. fourth in SEC

.Ga is only game not winnable. Miss State will be tough but we can win the rest.

I'll take any bowl at all that we can get into but, if I had a choice (I don't) give me a warm weather location with some golf courses near by.

SEC Bowl Tiers:
1. College Football Playoff
2. Capital One
3. Outback/Music City/Gator/Liberty/Texas/Belk
4. Birmingham
5. Independence

The SEC office now decides which teams go to each bowl. It will probably take 7 or 8 wins to make it into that third tier.

Thanks Andy, as always. Good to hear from you.

These bowl names are getting silly. I'm holding out for the Waffle House Bowl. I can hear the commercial they could play 1000+ times ... "Take it to the House".

Possible future bowl names , the preparation H bowl, ....... The Today Sponge Bowl...........The Viagra Bowl ( where everyone stands),..........the Duck Dynasty Bowl............hell we may even have one there at Commonwealth Stadium and call it the ?....Courtesy on Wheels Bowl........SWEET!!! And at halftime that Chee$edick can sell some rides and do that lame a$$ " sweet" about 10,000 times.

I JUST WANT A BOW!!!!! ANY DANG BOWL!!!!!![banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana]
So would I but the bowl in Fort Worth would not be a good choice. The game is played outside and it's cold, windy and in the past we've had ice during the game. I live in DFW and I would rather it be the bowl played in AT&T stadium. I think it's called the CarQuest Bowl, or something like that.

LOL, that would be the best ... just being straight up and honest.

Greasy, thanks for the laugh. Can we hit him every time he says sweet?

Yea but I picture him like one of those weabels wobble but they don't fall down dolls.......every time you smash him in the face, he pops right back up and yells SWEET!!!

I personally prefer the outback bowl, I can get free lodging at the in-laws beach house.

Anyways, I think UK could guarantee 35-40k+ fans at a bowl the level of the Outback. But then we would guarantee at least that many or more if we make it to Nashville again. I think our attendance at the MCB in the past started to wanes bit due to fan apathy about getting to that bowl repeatedly and never seeming to advance beyond it. This year would have a different feel about it I beleive so I think we would get the ticket sales back up to where it was when we played FSU there.
