Also remember that many Loserville fans claim they're not really part of Kentucky. They prefer to be part of southern Indiana. I agree with them. I also wish they were not part of our state. They and Indiana deserve each other.
loserville is southern Indiana so you don't have to pull for them. I have no problem saying it today GO DUKE!!!
I don't understand it either. I don't live in Kentucky and never have. I understand Kentuckians are generally proud of being from Kentucky, more so than Ohioans from what I've gathered, but I don't understand rooting for the rival school. I doubt they root for us to "keep it in the state."

I live in Louisville and the reason I do not cheer for UL is because they are an embarrassment to the state of Kentucky. The way they present themselves on the basketball floor, a coach with questionable morals, over aggressive play and r antics, I feel their basketball and football program represents the city of Louisville and the state of Kentucky in a very poor light. No way will I ever cheer for UL until they improve their overall image our city and our state with the respect it deserves!
That's just silly. Louisville has never been a threat to UK, EVER. They are on the same level as any other in state school in Kentucky. I don't necessarily cheer for any other in state team, but would hope they would beat an actual national power, as it makes the COMMONWEALTH of Kentucky look better.
For those that say that Louisville doesn't cheer for UK because it's good for the state, that's also silly. Most of the people that feel this way have probably never had a younger sibling. Of course Louisville fans are going to feel that way, just as most younger siblings wish they could be the older sibling. Just because they feel that way, doesn't mean we have too.
I never had any problem with lil brother until I got on the internet message boards. The Card fans here on the internet make absolute, 100% asshats of themselves. No way I would ever root or cheer for them for any reason because of this. The VAST 99.9999999% of Card fans NEVER cheer for UK in anything.
If you cheer for lil brother OTIS simply because they're in the state of KY, and you think it's good for the Commonwealth, you are completely oblivious to the routine, asinine, loud, obnoxious, deluded & disrespectful treatment they give Kentucky & our fans all of the time.
You really need to open your eyes (as mine have been, when I started reading the message boards towards the end of Tubby's tenure) and realize you're sticking your head in the sand where lil brother OTIS is concerned.
Period.
