Olatunbosun acknowledged that Fox feels like one of UK's top priorities in the class but declined to name a favorite on his player's behalf. Kansas, Louisville and Louisiana State are the other finalists, and Fox has already taken official visits to all of those schools.

That means the next step will be a college decision, and Fox's coach said the plan is to make that announcement sometime before Cypress Lakes' season opener on Nov. 16.

The weeklong early signing period begins Nov. 11

Hope this doesn't become another Malek Mewman situation. Fox is exactly what UK needs to fill the pg position next year.

Wtf??? Not even close. Fox is signing in the early period and he eliminated Texas (his home state) a long time ago. Smh

Not even close. Fox is an early period signee, is about ten times smarter, frankly, and has already eliminated all his in-state universities.

Lets lock up Allen as he would go great with SKJ , Gabriel , Willis , Humphries and Wynyard in the front court .
It wouldn't hurt my feelings. He has a frame that can be developed, will only get better, and bringing him in probably would not make any of the other interior commitments feel like they are already being recruited over.

I live in Louisiana - if Fox were to choose LSU it would kill me. I am already fed up with the hype over Simmons playing for them!!

Don't sweat it...he's been ours for a while now. His commitment is just a formality.

I like that Allen is a guy who will be drafted high but like the other Texan Bolden will need 2 years probably . Both Centers we are after are top 3 centers in this class so we would be lucky to have either.

I thought this was kind of a random thing to say until i thought back on interviews with Fox and Newman, and the difference is pretty striking.

Now, we've had kids before with thick Southern accents who were initially mic shy who turned out to be incredibly intelligent (Boogie), so I don't want to write Newman off, but...

You hear Fox talk, and you hear a sharp, talktative young man with a big smile and a great attitude - a lot like Nerlens or Karl where they are so likeable and so talented you'd just be crushed if they didn't wear the Kentucky blue. All of our kids under Cal have been practically trouble-free, but kids like that just eviscerate the "dull, athletic, uncaring, selfish mercenaries" narrative that the UL + IU fans want to hang on to.

Fox is "a pro already" and knows which coach is best at taking "pros already" and making sure they don't end up losing to 10 seeds in the 2nd round.

He'll be at Kentucky.

I would assume this is because of Cal being out of town for his dad.

Dang it! I wanted him to get to experience all the slutty nurses and slutty cops on UK's campus during Halloween....I can personally attest they are QUITE a sight to see.

I'm assuming Cal's dad's open heart surgery went well but this kind of devotion to reloading is still amazing.

John Calipari was in Texas earlier today for an in-school visit with De'Aaron Fox, the No. 1 point guard in the country.

Its funny how fans want to question why Coach Cal is stopping in and visiting with Fox now and want to say negatives toward that. I think its great that Coach Cal is still letting DeAaron Fox know that he is Kentucky's #1 priority this year and stopping in now lets Fox know that Coach Cal is his top priority for next year.

They are probably coordinating Fox's eventual announcement.[winking]
