NEW: Rawle Alkins brings "killer instinct" to the basketball court, and he could be UK's next great scoring guard http://bit.ly/1WJkH0q

Several UK targets at Elite 24 game

Saturday's Under Armour Elite 24 game in Brooklyn will feature 11 players with scholarship offers from UK.

Edrice Adebayo, Rawle Alkins, Jarrett Allen, Udoka Azubuike, Markelle Fultz, Wenyen Gabriel, Josh Jackson, Thon Maker and Kobi Simmons all have UK offers for the class of 2016. T.J. Leaf — who recently backed out of a commitment to Arizona and includes UK on his list of favorites — will also play in the game.

DeAndre Ayton and Michael Porter Jr. — the top two players in the class of 2017 — have UK offers and will also compete along with fellow 2017 recruits and probable Calipari targets Trevon Duval and Billy Preston.

The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and will be shown live on ESPNU
.

Have to like this.

He's made no announcements on any trips other than the Big Blue Madness visit, and recruiting observers aren't having an easy time predicting his college destination.

I mean they're built similarly, even have the same mannerisms on the court the way they move. I'm not saying their games are similar at all, because they're clearly not haha. It just looks like if Randle only grew to 6'5" and had to play SG he'd look like Alkins.
Right, I knew how you meant the comparison. I just agree with you 100%. They look like they could be brothers in their mannerism and how they do that wide eyed stare haha.

I'd love to see him or Fox commit early. Looks like Monk might draw it out into April.

I think the longer it takes Monk to commit the better for UK. He doesn't want to commit early and be chastised from Arkansas fans.

IMO.

Alkins? Yes please! Beast and a brute with the ball. Can shoot the three deep! Can pull up. Can drive with power and finish with an and 1. He is thick but quick. Defensively he can muscle his way from being backed into the paint. He is a winner and has no fear. Lot of guys want the ball but he is one of a few that can put the dagger in the heart consistently and smile doing it.

Yes, please!!!! The guy has a great attitude to go along with star power skills...

You know how some posters describe kids as looking like a "Dukie" before they ever commit to Duke?

Well Alkins just looks like a Kentucky Wildcat/Cal guy to me.

Fox and Bridges do as well, so we'll see...

After seeing Alkins in the game tonight, I would love to add him at the 3 spot if Bridges does not sign with us or if Cal decides to go small (unlikely) and gets Monk, Alkins, and Bridges.

That is what I would do. I would go small with Bridges at the 4(he's bigger than Winslow and looks to be a better rebounder than Winslow, so playing the 4 shouldn't be a big deal). Then have Killeya-Jones, Humphries, and Wynyard to rotate inside. Mulder and Matthews providing perimeter depth.

Starters

G Fox- runs the show.
G Monk- plays the 1 when Fox needs a rest.
G Alkins- slides to the 2 when we go bigger.
F Bridges- moves to the 3 when we need more size.
F Killeya-Jones- plays the 4 when Humphries is in.

Key Reserves
F Humphries- sixth man role.
G Mulder- reserve at the 2 spot,
G Matthews- reserve at the 3 spot.
F Wynyard- foul trouble fill in.

Cal covets size, though, so it's probably going to be two out of three when it comes to Monk, Alkins, and Bridges and add another big man.
