Roberts: Current Commitment Chart, UK Will Be #43 Nationally

I expect Lewis to commit to UK. It's possible that Custis does as well, but we'll have to see. There will be more.
Either way, I'm fine with that considering the number of commits we have.

43 will not win in the SEC. Now if 43 is the outlier, meaning top 20-30's and the occasional 40, then we will be fine.

I'm doing this from memory so it may not be right but if our classes were

2013 #29
2014 #18
2015 #43
2016 #20 assumed

That kind of success will be the best UK can ever hope to get. At least in the near future. A lot will be riding on next years season.

We will finish better than 43. We are being crushed by our class size right now, but will make 20+ with some quality added, maybe a genuine surprise. 30-35 is where we land, from where I sit. It will do this year.

But we'll make up no ground on our SEC counterparts.

And that is where the rubber meets the road.

We will look similar to Division foes other than UGA and UT. That isn't such a bad "off" year.

43 is obviously the outlier, and it's almost positively going to go up to the high 30's at least.
TCU, Wisconsin, Baylor, Michigan State, and all them seem to do pretty well with similar recruiting numbers to UK, don't they?

This thread just seems to confuse people because it is not clear that UK
WILL NOT stay at 43 due to being below the counted 20 mark.
Someone please add what the most likely finish spot will be. I assume about 35.

We are sitting at #43 with 16 commitments. If we can close with half of the guy's we are in on,we should move up considerably.

I would rather be at #43 with 16 commitments then at say #32-35 with 25 commitments. Like (..........)

If we can pull one of the 2 (lewis, custis) and (Miller,Gosier) and (Miggons,Copeland) and 2 signing day suprises i will be happy happy happy.... seriously,we have above average QUALITY just not quantity which is much better than finishing 30-35 while signing 25!

If we have (3) 4* with
(8+) 5.7 3* and
(3-5) 5.6 3*
(3-5) 5.5 3*..
That's 11 players rated 5.7 or higher which is a very good core class for uk STANDARD'S considering we were in year 3 after being jokerd..

Also i noticed TN has 29 commitments... usc has 30 commitments.. Our staff could very easy get a few like whitlow or someone that get's pushed out.
P.S. If i read right espn had ul at 35 with 25 commit's.

We will end up around 30. Stoops first class was 29th.

The path to a #30 or better ranking would be to land 4 star Lewis, flip 4 star Smith from Vandy, pick up A.D. Miller, get Custis, then close out with two or three more 3 star recruits. That is probably a best case scenario, but possible. It would certainly be an improvement over a disastrous scenario of finishing in the 40s or 50s.

Still, the bottom line is, we gotta have a winning season and go bowling this upcoming season. That is vital to keeping things going forward. Anything less than 6 or 7 wins and I'm afraid our recruiting classes will start to finish in the 40s or 50s. That said, if we can win 6 or 7 games and go bowling, we should be in a good position to perhaps land a top 15 class. With a much better overall in-state group of talent in 2016, I feel that class has the potential to shake out better than this one. But the key is to win.

Number 43. If true, very disappointing and not nearly good enough. Being 13th or 14th in the SEC is like doing some routine in your life the same way over and over and expecting different results. Why are we mired in a life-long struggle to be decent in football? We will continue to be the Cubs (if that good) of college football if something doesn't radically change in the next few years.

Wow lol. I was a little upset when we lost out on the running back and the Twins flipped but some people have completely gone off the deep end. R-E-L-A-X

Wish we could have a QB like Rodgers to even consider this lol. This class is weak. If we get the 13-14th class in our conference, that's more than likely where we will finish.

According to Rivals we are coming off of #17 and a #29 respectively. A slight step back was inevitable but not it is not the end of the world.

With a few more wins this season, a shiny newly renovated stadium and signs of continuous improvement Stoops and company could have a better recruiting year next year.

This season there is a lot of transitioning going on. The stadium renovation, Brown leaving etc.

I for one am glad to see the old ex- OC go. Let's hope he makes a better HC for Troy State's sake.

Most of our skill players including Towles have gained valuable experience and it will show next season.

Hell we may be the next Alabama or Auburn but is going to take more than 3 years.

Rank in conference is not as important as the delta. Can't be in the forties while the rest in top 20.

It also comes down to being able to get players at the key positions: QB, DT, and WR while not being noticeably weak at any one spot.

Really?
Ahh yeah 43 is pretty pitiful.
Yeah, doesn't sound good to a lot of people, amplified on here.

But when you consider the ability of these coaches to spot talent that a lot of the biggies want after UK gets their commit, some of the high quality talent we have already (four in school now), the way we have recruited need positions, and the number of total recruits we have compared to most schools, and the BIGGIE in the equation, the redshirts we will play this year. we aren't in that bad a shape. Anyone that doesn't think we will rise about 10 positions at least knows nothing about Rivals rating system-----that is unless we save several spaces for next year, which I would be fine with.
