This kid will be a very good get, I'm thinking we have more stay than most are guessing, he can definitley be a superstar with a good supporting cast. I'm also interested in the 5 spot if we lose Richards...

The first and last stops are always the easiest to remember fwiw.
When you look at this kid, you can't not drool. The kid has everything it takes to become a special player in college and as a pro. This is the dude to be Kentucky's all star small forward for Cal to use in future recruiting. I know many fans think every top player wants to grow up and become a Blue Devil, but last I heard, Cal ain't no slouch with recruiting and Kentucky ain't so bad as a blue blood basketball program. Its funny with this kid. Before he enrolled to skip a grade, it was probably UK. Once it happened, it's more Duke. Cal saw what Barrett did to team USA up close. No way in he!! would he allow another coach to recruit this type of talent harder.
Interesting because the Duke insiders say the Duke staff always want either the first or last visit, and they're getting neither here.
Of course the Crystal Ball is 57% for Duke. Is there a major recruit the last couple years they haven't led for?
I think Murray will play a big part in RJ coming here.. They're very good friends and Murray loves UK and Cal
What are the chances both Barrett and Reddish pick Duke? I've been thinking after the first one commits, the other would go elsewhere, but I have nothing to base that on.
But sometimes the decision is made before a last visit even happens. Hoping he sees all he needs to see in the first visit and commits soon after.

That said, I like our chances with him. First the Canadian connection we have had recently and how we have helped put those players in the league and second the fact he plays for mountverde where we seem to have success getting players from them. Is coyle still the coach there?

That's the team I've been toying with in my head, except I think Green will be one and done.
If Quade puts up the numbers this season to be OAD, we're going to have a dangerous team. But with his height and lack of elite athleticism, I struggle to see it. Green will have to deliver a Ulis-esque assist to turnover ratio and shoot 44% from 3 to make the scouts pay attention.
Dosen't Coach K, coach position less basketball. If not, I bet he is about to start

I really don't think Ulis is a good physical comparison for Green. Green is 2-4 inches taller and 30-40 lbs heavier than Ulis.
I like our chances really well with this one. Quickley, Williamson, Johnson, Barrett, Shittu and possibly one or two more, IMO. That'd be one hell of a recruiting class right there.

This is true, but their games are quite similar. High basketball IQ, leader and distributor. Perfect fit with this new team, IMO.
Right. I'm just saying the odds aren't stacked against him the way they were against Ulis.
Nobody knows what RJ Barrett will decide. Your sarcasm about the Crystal Ball is appreciated. Anyone who follows these things with eyes open knows the Crystal Ball means nothing. If it did, Kevin Knox, Quade Green wouldn't be here. Bam Adebayo, Jamal Murray, Noel wouldn't have been here. But Trae Young, Mohamed Bamba, Marvin Bagley would have been here. UK fans hope Murray influences Barrett's decision. Maybe so, maybe not. I would be very happy with Quickley, Shittu, plus 2 out of Barrett, Williamson, Reddish.
Ha, I can see why it's confusing. I think what he means is that some are trying to say he's a #3 and others a #2, and he's thinking he can play all wing spots and possibly a bit of PF.
No, they really are. There's little difference between Green and Ulis in the NBA. Both are gonna get scored over. Green is 6'0 with a 6'1 wingspan. Match that against the number of 6'5" guards with +5 wingspans, and even forwards with point guard skills these days, and nobody's really penciling that in as "good enough," even compared to a 5'8" guy like Ulis. He is going to face the exact same skepticism as Ulis, and his only chance at overcoming it is to be the same kind of player.
Quade isn't the quickest. That's what hurts him for his size. Ulis is almost as quick as it gets.

Duke media mafia will be on full hard on alert. My favorite--they'll downplay the fact UK gets initial visit while they nearly creamed themselves with joy getting Bagley's visit--which was first. Bagley situation was simple--they knew NCAA would allow him to do what he wanted and fact they've got Duval and Bagley-whom their beloved media guys were trashing and saying "Duke won't be involved due to shady dealings.......eligibility questions..." all last Summer.
I've got full respect for the success and production Duke has had on the court. I think Coach K is the best Coach in CBB. I also laugh how they label so many others and ignore the dirt being done in their own house. BTW--this isn't about UK either-Duke always goes insane when UNC wins and the response to having elite talent with sketchy backgrounds is if UNC isn't going to get hammered for what they're doing........
As a neutral observer, find the fact Duke fans defend the additions by changing the words the guys they live off every sentence and update about them....yet throw shots at Kentucky and mock how they do things. It's a big business and we're all smart enough to know that things happen. Just acknowledge they happen at EVERY program and not just opponents or schools you don't like.

Barrett is my favorite player in that class. Would really love to see him play at UK. He would thrive in Calipari's system, imo.
K's "Brotherhood" (and I think it's more Capel) is a direct rip of Cal's "La Familia" .. such BS.
dook has been throwing around position-less bball too. Not quite the same but remember when uf and donovan would find out who OTS was recruiting then immediately go after the same players. dook certainly has had to keep up with Cal and UK no way around it.
I think this would be ideal. Only way it could be better would be Reddish instead of Johnson and Bol instead of Shittu. Reddish seems Duke bound and Bol probably stays out West, so I think this is the best we can hope for.
Those five with what we should get back would be a really good squad. A little experience with a lot of talent at every position.

Still concerned about Adidas with Williamson. I think they are pushing him hard to KU. I think ultimately he ends up there.
I think we may just get four. Quickley, Johnson, Barrett, and Shittu. I think we get one of Washington, Vanderbilt, Richards, or Gabriel back as well.
If we miss on Barrett as well, then I think Cal gives King an offer.

You think they will all leave?
Not sure about that myself. I think at least one of the forwards returns.
Could be wrong, though. I am a lot.
