@Rock_Cat78 any insight on this one?
Was this one of those " hard conversations" CMS spoke of that was going to take place, or is this an unexpected loss at an already thread thin position???
Totally unfair. Just because someone doesn't develop or show they are ready to play SEC football in their 1st 2 yrs doesn't mean an off the field issue. I sure as hell don't think that about John Young or Jager Burton.I remember when Rickey Hyatt signed with us. Stoops predicted Hyatt would be an impact freshman. But he only played on special teams, and not very much at that. When this happens, there is some type of problem behind the scenes that we fans have not heard about.
Yeah. That's a ridiculous assertion to make.Totally unfair. Just because someone doesn't develop or show they are ready to play SEC football in their 1st 2 yrs doesn't mean an off the field issue. I sure as hell don't think that about John Young or Jager Burton.

Who's say the guy didn't have injuries? To assume off the field issues is grossly unfair.
Not true. There has been no hints that Hyatt has been a problem. I was not surprised when Hyatt transferred, and some of the others. I felt at the time his film was one of the weakest in the class. Of course I kept that to myself at the time but it's more likely that he was just a miss. Even Stoops doesn't evaluate right 100% of the time. Hyatt never made the depth chart and it's increasingly clear that he probably never would. It doesn't mean he was a problem. We are just recruiting at a different level now.I remember when Rickey Hyatt signed with us. Stoops predicted Hyatt would be an impact freshman. But he only played on special teams, and not very much at that. When this happens, there is some type of problem behind the scenes that we fans have not heard about. Too bad, because we could have used another impact player in our secondary. But this opens another scholarship during the transfer and recruiting season. So it is all good.
This gives me a chance to give a shout out to our coaches for the smart way they have used the portal to improve our team. There may be other teams with as many key transfer contributors, but I don't know who they are. I think Stoops takes 1-2 more transfers this spring.
I gave up on CBB a decade plus ago and as a Kentucky fan who grew up loving college hoops, it wasn't easy. Now, with all of the craziness that is being brought about by the portal and NIL, it's just a matter of time for CFB too. Hate it, but it is what it is.Just a side effect of what we now have as college football. Guys can leave at any time without losing any eligibility. This sucks to say, but a WR would have to look at UT hard. Because they throw so much. QB not so much, he doesn't learn what the NFL wants. Just not the same as it was 2 years ago. I hate it, Likely won't wT h much anymore, but I could become a better hunter
