I think he will be a lottery pick, but won't commit to him being top 10 yet. Not that crazy of a prediction, in my opinion.

Has not played one minute of college ball yet. Only time will tell.

If Richards is a serious contender for top ten selection come draft time next year, then we just had a VERY good season.
Wasn't Nerlens Noel taken 6th?
Looks like Fultz is going top 5 this year, but Washington sucked.
I hope you are right, but the two don't necessarily go hand and hand.

Not in an average year. But this year we are so tall and insanely strong at 2—4 that I don't think average year/average team math applies.

I do think the 5 is a bigger question mark this year than most people here do. But if someone can guarantee me Richards will play his way that far into the lottery (and of course be available unlike Nerlens), then you can consider me 100% sold on this team's chances. Nothing is ever certain but I don't expect to find much better odds than that would give us.

We'd still take learning-curve knocks but that wouldn't bother me a bit. I'm always more pessimistic than the most exteme dreamer types, but way more optimistic than the pack.

I think he's got lottery potential. The problem is that he's still a raw prospect, and given our history of one and dones in the Calipari era, he will likely leave after one season if projected in the first round, rather than come back another season and ::maybe:: increase his draft stock.

Hope I'm very wrong, but i haven't seen anything from Richards watching him the last year to think that...I think he will take a lot of time to get there..jmo

If his hands improve then id say he has an excellent shot at a top 10 selection. Hes 6'11" and can jump out of the gym with an ever improving offensive game. Has really improved in the last year.

Sometimes when I read what sab is posting I think I'm reading a bad fortune cookie quote only it involves ky basketball. How ya been smooth?

Nick Richards is the most talented, slow walking, athletic true center to ever play for the Kentucky wildcats basketball team and I believe he will be selected number one overall. Signed, rough as sandpaper.

How ya been smooth?

He's a terrific player, but he really needs to work on his hands. Wide open passes go right through his hands
