Report - Deion Offered Colorado Job

It would be an absolute grand slam 600ft bomb if Colorado landed Coach Prime. Personally, I think he’s way bigger than that job. I have been following Deion since his arrival at JSU and I think he’s the next big thing.

If I were Texas A&M I would pony up all the money they could find to buy out and ditch Jimbo and then I’d go after Deion with everything I had leftover and watch the wins and titles pile up.

Imagine how bad he would’ve screwed up the Aubbie job. Freeze is light-years ahead of Deion. Why would you play for a guy like that? If I’m a recruit’s parent and it’s between Saban and Sanders…wouldn’t contemplate it for one second.

Is he that good of a coach ?

He’s won close to 20 games straight. He’s improved every facility at Jackson St and provided their players with more gear than big time Power 5 kids get. He went out and fundraised like crazy to improve their facilities. Actually got College GameDay to do their show at JSU all of this with peanuts for resources.

I can’t imagine what he would do if given big time resources.

Thank... I have never kept up with him or the teams he coached.

Does anyone think recreational use of weed being legal is a recruiting advantage in Colorado ?? I guess coaches could ask them not to smoke during the season and Spring practice. Lots of good, clean weed out there, most is one-toke.

I think arizona state should see that and make a move.
He would turn Phoenix in to the hottest place in college football.

At half, Utah leads the Buffs 35-0. Utes have 310 yards of offense, CU has 9.

Deion would have to be crazy to go there.

He would kill recruiting in Texas at aTm.

Deion is a very stupid man for considering the CU job. They were arguably the worst team in Div I this year and literally have no local following as it's all pro sports in the area. I will guess he'll fail spectacularly or he'll find a much better job in 3 years or less. CU is a horrible job. He can do much, much better.

Actually kind of makes sense. With USC and UCLA leaving Colorado path isn’t stupid hard.

Deion’s brand will attract players from everywhere or his ego is telling him that. Can he convince Florida kids to go to Colorado? Yeah I think he can.

Colorado is a tougher build than USF but if Colorado is twice the pay check then take the pay day and roll the dice. You win 7 games at Colorado you’ll be sought after. Heck, Michigan St’s current coach was at Colorado for one season and didn’t even win 7 games before he got a B10 job.

Deion is not stupid at all, he can operate differently than your typical coach. Going to a soon to be weakened Pac 12 and being able to bring talent in like Colorado has never seen before is a good move. Bet he makes a splash this recruiting cycle, and know he will via the portal.

Have to consider that USC and UCLA leaving means a lot less $$$$ for the remaining schools which means less NIL for players. Colorado doesn't produce a lot of homegrown talent, very limited local interest in college sports and now a huge disadvantage regarding NIL. I think Deion is making a mistake. Could have similar paycheck with better opportunities to actually compete. Culturally, Deion's flash will clash with Colorado while he'd be fine in West Coast or south Florida. Just my $0.02.

I think Deion can win at Colorado-- no doubt.

But I will tell you-- a very underwhelming job he will end up getting-- figured he had his sights on much bigger jobs than this (Auburn, others) but this looks to be where he'll land. I think he scared many away.

With Deion winning will come with a price. Every time he opens his mouth you will need to hold your breath. It will always be about him. I question for how long his loyalty there will last.

What on earth are you talking about? Imo hard to imagine a better leader of young men.

It’s more shrewd than it seems on the surface.

Mel Tucker parlayed one year there into a B10 job and a huge contract. With the portal the way it is, Deion can amass good talent that doesn’t get stuck there after he leaves. Not a lot of competition in a (for now) P5 conference. Deion needs a year or two of D1 experience, Colorado would be good training wheels.

Jobs that may be open in 1-2 years: TAMU, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Auburn, Michigan, UCLA, hell anyone really these days, either by coaches moving or bad coaching for a year or two. About the only two that won’t (that don’t have legends or young guys at the helm) are UK and MichSt.

It’s a gamble for sure, but if he succeeds he’ll be the hottest thing on the market in a year or two.

If Prime will be patient and play his cards right he can land in the SEC or at FSU or Miami. Colorado is a dead end job. Maybe even a step down from where he is now.

I think the worry if you get Deion is that you will automatically have to start his son at QB. So at least for the next 2 years you are beholden to that and if he is actually good at a P5 level. Otherwise I don’t see much worry. He will bring in great players and good staff to cover any of his shortcomings.

I also think this is part of Deion’s thinking in taking a job like Colorado or South Florida instead of a bigger job. He is thinking about his son. If he took the Auburn job his son would be thrown into the deep end against the SEC west

He can pitch weed is legal in Colorado to the recruits. That maybe an advantage. 😆 Might only be able to partake in the off-season though depending on the rules there.

Deion first and foremost is going to take care of Deion.
