Ran by the football stadium early this morning. It is now a massive construction site with workers and heavy equipment absolutely hauling ass to get done. (One of which very politely told me to get out of the way, and he was 100% correct, it is a very active construction site and I will not go over there again until September 5, unless it is early Sunday morning when no one around). Several workers told me they still have a lot to do and no way will it be fully completed by first football game.
It looks like the Alumni Drive work is just about finished, now they are concentrating on repouring the parking lots where all of the construction equipment was stored. Even so, we have lost a massive amount of parking. Unless we have perfect weather and pavement is poured continuously, I see no way that the parking won’t be a complete mess, at least for the first game.
A lot of new landscaping is being hauled in, and a new parking lot is being laid out next to the practice facility addition. There are a lot of nice touches, for example, it looks like they rebuilt the student bus stop at the end zone nearest Nicholasville Road with very nice-looking limestone construction.
Overall, I am getting more and more impressed with the quantity and quality of work going into the stadium renovation. Really getting excited to see the finished product next month. (Sure hope the product on the field matches the quality of the construction project. )
