If it was the Big 10, big 12 , ACC or Pac 12... I'd say yeah we can recover. But this is the SEC and if ULL's speed gave us fits, the SEC is only faster
there are no more "BCS" schools. and this ULL team would beat IndianaWe dont have the history of being a winning team like Missouri either.
Another point is that Indiana is a BCS school, ULL isnt.
Our defense got eaten alive by Sun Belt team. think about that for a minute. If you cant see the obvious warning sign then I really worry about what your every day job is.. I hope its not something vital
Oh shut up with that. The SEC isn't made of mutant beings. We may see one QB in SEC play as fast at the QB from ULL that gave us fits with the read options, and that's Dobbs. Could make the argument for Mauk, but he's a one trick pony, and that's been proven time and time again.
Kentucky is still one of the faster teams in the league. It wasn't the speed that gave fits, it was the prep for the read option with a bunch of young linebackers, and a young DT.
Louisiana has a program ten times better than IU. Now that's not saying much but it's true. Our defense was also missing several key pieces. Having said that, the performance was disappointing to say the least. The lack of lateral quickness and the inability to cover the edge effectively is troubling. Hopefully Stoops will make some adjustments but the lack of quickness is remedied by recruiting. We dont have the history of being a winning team like Missouri either.

QB won't matter much, they will run the ball over and over in the SEC and succeed. Plus, that guy in Starkville may not be as fast as ULL's but he is pretty good at running the ball as well. I still think we will win 6 games, but there are gonna be some ugly ones ala UGA and UT and LSU last year as well mixed in.

I hope certainly hope you are right. I do agree the injuries and the young players played a huge part. I also think being on the field for 90 plays contributed but the issues were there in the first half too.The lack of quickness was an issue in the 4th quarter, and having veterans back next week, and then everybody back in week 3 will remedy that. The freshmen linebackers were playing out of position at times as well, so that's what McGuire outran them to the edges at times. Being a young player that's played the entire game against a team that runs the ball a ton will do that to you. We're fine.
