The Watford shot at their place. They were once again celebrating it and show on reruns as if it was a championship. Even though we knocked them out on the Sweet 16 later that year. I figured some of the guys here would get a kick out of them continuing to celebrate a December win from 4 years ago.
I remember the 10th of December as the day that triggered IU to secure Clappy Crean to a disastrous long term contract that continues to anchor that program in mediocrity.
In retrospect, I'm glad they won that game because it essentially acted as a fatal blow to IU's presence as an "elite" college basketball program.

actually it's pretty hilarious. And, kind of sad, too.
Anytime someone wants to remind me of the 2011-2012 Kentucky basketball team, I'm all for it. Those two loses that season were small bumps on the road to greatness.
funny thing about that - if you ever read about that season, you see they made a "great" Sweet 16 run, but you almost never see who it was who knocked them out of the tourney. It's not mentioned any Hoosier I know; and if you do bring it up; they say something about the December game.
Yeah. And that's what is even more hilarious. They think games like that are the be all and end all of it. Well sorry to break it to their pathetic pos fanbase, those games are an afterthought. You always want to play your best in March. Not worry about some game in the season. We beat them by 12 on a neutral floor. Those cowards were crying like dogs after the game and won't even admit. Freaking loser of a a fanbase.
The problem with those knuckle dragging Hoosier fans is that they forget it was Coach Tom Crean who led that Hoosier team to the biggest victory in IU history, HECK, they stormed the court as proof that it was! And now they're talking about getting rid of CTC?!?! They're IDIOTS!

I think that game shows Crean's potential. IU would be foolish to get rid of the coach that defeated the best team in a long time.
What's truly hilarious about this is that they have completely blocked from their memory the fact that we sent them back to Bloomington in March on our way to an 8th National Championship, something they haven't won since Reagan was President. Losing that game in December meant absolutely nothing to us.

That loss was so worth it. Hell, I would lose to Indiana in December of this year if it would keep Tom Crean there another 10 years.
LOL But in all fairness, I suspect Tom Crean would like to kiss Watford on the mouth even if he'd missed that shot...
