Might as well face it, ESPN and most national "journalists" are in the bag for K. Bilas did everything but wear a T-shirt with his picture on it trying to get them a 1 seed. Just made their loss so much more enjoyable. They tried to prop that team up all year. Refusing to see they just weren't that good and in the process revealed their true selves.
Sports journalism is usually pretty bad. It's constant hyperbole. If you lose, you get tons of articles about doom and gloom and the inevitable demise and if you win, you get pieces praising you as the "greatest ever" or "finally turned it around" type stuff.

and the way they made excuses for grayson allen was insane. completely played down his stomping the notre dame player, and before that greenberg--who doesn't like duke imo but was contorting himself in a bizarre effort to appear 'fair'--moved out from behind the desk to demonstrate how allen heel-kicking a screener in the nutsack was a completely normal basketball play
krzyzewski has 1000 wins and, obviously, tremendous leadership skills & commitment. but for the last 20 years his presence is not an in-game advantage for duke. bilas had a twitter conniption when fraschilla made essentially the same point. he cleared out for langdon to go 1 on 1 on ricky moore. come on
their recent bad tournament losses are all about the same, really. the other team starts to pull away and duke continues to take 3s off 0-2 passes as krzyzewski occasionally interrupts his angry, rodential deer-in headlights stare to berate the refs
and at this point it's obvious that he's a vindictive, mean-spirited phony of a person
Unfortunately, the cheaters in Chapel Hill won the title so ESPN is still going to slurp Duke/UNC and the ACC in general.
