Regional hosts...

I highly doubt that we get into the tournament. If we do, I think that it is likely that we head to Louisville as a 3. Then they could give Louisville a 2 like Bryant and still be sure that they will have a good turnout at the regional because of Kentucky and Louisville fans making up for a lack of Bryant fans. Just a thought though.

None of the projections this weekend had Kentucky in the field. Kind of hope they are right, but doubt that it will make a difference with Henderson this year.

No it won't make any difference at all. He will be here next season, the last year of his contract. The same scenario as 2012, his back was against the wall, he scheduled smartly, won 23 straight games to start the season, and wound up winning 45 games.

Well, if we don't get a lot of help next year then our scheduling won't matter. I know we have a lot of young pitchers, but none of them really project to be as good as our current starters. 2012 was entirely unexpected so it could happen again, and having this recruiting class will help, but if they are like our last several classes, they are strong, but the cream of the crop go pro while the rest are really just average. Not to mention I seriously question the ability of Henderson to develop pitching talent.

I don't see how we can be very competitive next year if Shelby, Collett, Badoo, Flowers, and McGee all go pro as expected.

Well, Shelby, Flowers and Badoo are both outfielders. We likely only have one spot open for an outfielder. Wilson, Reks, Pompey, and Carson return for the outfield. Reks is likely solidly in left. Wilson hasn't been overly impressive, but I think Henderson likes him and won't replace him if he is healthy. Pompey needs to improve his average. So, Shelby, Flowers and Badoo could replace some guys in the outfield, but it isn't guaranteed they would.

Collette could play, but Henderson will likely stick with Cottam. Squires struggled, so there is an opportunity as a backup. Still, Collette would have to come in do very well if he's going to make a difference.

That leaves McGee... he would be pretty key along with Hanson. Pitching is key, but I don't know if we will have anyone coming in that will really make a difference. Those two seem to be big tall guys that project to the weekend, but I don't know about the others we have coming in.

Hoping GH isn't the ones making the decisions
