Calipari never mentioned Reed's 7 threes in his post game until a reporter brought it up.
All he talked about was his turnovers.
Very strange.
Cal knows how good Reed is, and how level-headed he is, so he can treat him like an adult. He knows that Reed knows how good he can be, but he also knows that he needs him to be even better if we are going to cut down the nets. Just my opinion.

He said he might have to start taking him out at the end of games.
Very strange.
He appeared a little rattled there at the very end with the press.....but he came through.

It'll make him a better player.

This may be selfish, but if there is a God in Heaven, please let Reed Sheppard come back for 1 or more years. I just REALLY love watching this kid play. He will have success in life no matter what he chooses to do, but please just let me see him play at least one more season of college basketball.

If you listen closely, you'll notice that when a reporter praises a player, Cal will criticize the player. When a reporter critiques the team, Cal will tell about something good the team does.

He loves telling people they're wrong to show how smart he is.

Thats directed at the fans. For someone who knows everything and doesn’t listen to the crazies and Bennie’s he sure seems to hear and respond to it.

It all depends on which player is being praised.

That's complete BS. The reporter was saying something about Reed and Cal cut him off and said "what about those threes?" Nice try.

I'd like to think you are right and that Cal is just trying to push him to be even better. If Cal was a sane individual, I'd completely believe it. But Cal is nuts so who knows.

I don’t know what interview the other poster was referring to, but in the postgame radio interview when Reeds great play was mentioned Cal jumped in and brought up the turnovers. Then started praising Edwards, DJ, and others and started bragging about how smart he was for not giving up on Edwards. I agree with everything he said but it’s how he does it and when. It’s like he just has a bone to pick with the fanbase and has to justify himself and his decisions.
His narcissistic behavior has gotten old to me.

Hopefully I’m wrong and Calipari wants Reed to take over. I just don’t think he does, I think Calipari doesn’t like that Reed stole the year from guys like Wagner.

Whether so or not, Reed has to have the team from the point on. You cannot have anyone else controlling this team at all.

We can win a title if Reed Reeves and Dilly are the focal point. It has to be done.

What’s your favorite Matt Damon movie?

You need to listen closer. It was
before that. He said what about those threes later on in the post game. He did the same thing after the Mississippi State game that Reed won on the last shot. He talked about a turnover Reed made instead of saying something about him winning the game on the last second shot..

It’s coaching. Reed is absolutely amazing. So good we can’t take him out. But he has made some absolutely costly mistakes closing out games. It’s cost us a few of them and we dodged the bullet in games that never should have came down to it because we have let teams catch up under a minute.

He has to fix it or it could decide a tournament game.

The good thing is I would be willing to bet Reed knows it. And is also getting the same message from both mom and dad.

I listed again. Taking that postgame and thinking Cal slighted Reed is a stretch. And he was dead right when he said Reed plays the end of the game like it’s the beginning of the game. Reed is a train wreck in the final minute or two other than free throws!
