Center Doral Moore- something to do with Barbee and Auburn, seemed trivial, yet we stopped recruiting him

PF Thomas Bryant- who really knows but kid was genuinely interested.

SF-Derrick Jones- sure we could have snagged him if we so desired

Others? And does Cal now take a bird in hand approach for the future?

Didn't Blakeney want to come here?

Bryant is looking pretty good right now.

So is Jones. We need a wing forward in the worst way.

Look, we offered the guy and never retracted the offer. You can still look up his offer list online if you don't believe me. If a school has an offer from a school, then by definition that school did not "turn him down", instead the opposite is true if he selects someone else. It ain't complicated.

If you are basing this by rivals or scouts offer list then it could be inaccurate. Those list are garbage.

Could have had Blakeney and Bragg and that makes us the overwhelming favorite. Granted blakeney would have meant no Newman/Mulder. Blakeney was the one recruit I wanted the most, after I watched his documentary, I wanted him over Newman. Hopefully we can get Murray to reclass.

Not dogging you out or anything but if you were recruited is he's out stipulations on that offer. If your the number #1 target then no stipulations. Cosches will tell you they want you and are watching you closely and even tell you what they would like to see you work on. How you will fit into their program and compare you to former players of theirs etc etc. They talk all this good stuff and then tell you that you have an offer but need to wait until later in the year to see where the other offers they have out is going to do and those guys are going to be giving me an answer in a month. Just wait till then.
Now as a recruit are you going to wait and have another school you really like sign someone else as your offer to them is unconditional but they told you they are not waiting and have somebody wanting to verbal for your spot right now.

Coaches play games all the time to see how big a fish they can possible land and this year it backfired on us on some important recruits.

Now do I believe that he had an offer? Yep. Do I believe it was conditional? Yep. Do I believe he would have commited if it wasn't? Nope it was rumored for some time that is where he was going before we even got involved with him. When Marquette got his brother you pretty much knew where he was going.

Hindsight is always 20/20, and we didn't really know for sure who was going to leave.

Maybe there is a player or two who Cal would have liked to have in the bag knowing what he knows now, but the way he does it works very well.

I doubt he feels like he blew it. Sometimes things don't quite work out. We are still in incredibly good shape, and have a class coming in that would be historic for most teams.

Most of the names people are coming up with UK didn't turn down, especially Bragg and Blakeney.
Bryant is the one kid we seemingly lost interest in and can't figure that one out. Maybe they found it difficult dealing with his mom, who didn't like us (but liked Syracuse and IU. Think about it).

Cal went after Bragg and Ellerson hard and just lost. I live close to Bryant and he wanted Syracuse until they got hit by the NCAA

I actually attended a few of Bragg's games and I did not see anybody from UK's staff at any of them. I did see Self or somebody from his Staff their.
What's funny is that a lot of these coaches who attend these games are not even watching the games but just sitting their talking with another coach or just texting on their phone.

I would like to add that Ellensen wasn't going anywhere but where his brother was at. Most everyone knew this and many wrote it as well.

IMO Blakeney didnt want us and Cal didnt want him. Bragg would have jumped on board if we had reciprocated the interest.
