Recent Video of CWS Progress Shot From Drone. Cool!

Texas A&M has been using one as well for their stadium renovations. Wondered if KY would the same and they did. Believe they will release a full video soon.

I drive by it on the way to work. Before they started some of the masonry on the south side, you could see through the hole where the club seating is going, was pretty neat!

It's going to look really good when they get it finished. Exterior will be 110% better. Interior I wish they had decided on blue chair backs throughout the entire stadium. It would have looked awesome and each fan would have a comfortable seat.

I know capacity would have went down even more but if it could have been done and put capacity still at 58,000 it would have been worth it I think. I believe if we get where we all think we're heading they're gonna be renovating an end-zone in a 5-8 years anyway, and adding some seats back with some kind of upper deck on the east or west side. An end-zone upper deck could push us back to what we had before this renovation.

It's gonna be great though!

I don't understand all this call for chair backs...Is it simply because epu has them...Name me another stadium in the sec that has them...went to all the road games but Fla this year and nobody has them...Just an unnecessary expense...Now bench backs all painted blue would be a different story...Would make the stadium look awesome...

If you are taller than 6' you don't want backs installed on the bench seats. You will have your knees in your lap, if seated, at least figuratively speaking. As far as everyone having a molded seat is concerned, that just speaks of too much interest in sitting for my taste. I don't need more than a blanket on a bench to rest on occasionally. I go to most games expecting to stand most of the game, especially SEC games. It might help if more folks approached spectating at CWS in that manner, instead of as a movie theater experience.

It's hilarious to me that so many get up in arms because people like having a seat back. Does it really bother you that much? Are you angry that the lower level of Rupp has seat backs? Do you boycott NFL, NBA, and MLB stadiums because they aren't wall to wall bleachers?

And the idea that a seat cannot be made the exact same width as what your rear end gets on that current bleacher is ridiculous. European football stadiums have seat backs with no armrests and they aren't as wide as the ones here in America. Of course European countries don't have all the fatties like here in America, but the fatties will take up other people's space whether they're on bleachers or seats with backs. Ever been on an airplane?

I'm Google searching stadium seat width in America now, have already found that seat backs do in fact come in different width. 2 examples-- Arlington Stadium where the Texas Rangers play has seat backs that range from 18-22 inches wide. The new Yankee Stadium has seat backs that range from 19-24" wide. It can be done.

The renovated CWS will have more backs on the bleachers than ever before, with less total seats. Guess more will have to stay home.

Who in the world is epu?

I didn't make the comment to start a seat back war. I don't really care honestly if there is a seat back or not. I know they are putting in a lot more and depending on the location and K fund donation you will have a seat with either a bench back or chair back seat. Just stating looks wise blue seats OR bleachers would look a lot better.

At the very least they need to widen every bleacher space by 2-3 inches to give everyone more room. Take the hit for whatever that loss in capacity is and make everyone more comfortable with what we've got.

...I love the idea of all seats being painted blue thru out the stadium, but the widening of the seats isn't going to float$$$$$ unless you are willing to pay more for your tickets if you are a season ticket holder...I am not a large individual so it's not a priority for me...

Seat backs are not really important as u should be standing most of the game.....
I'm all for standing especially on defense, but there are things called timeouts (too many), replays, halftime, injuries, stoppages in play etc. when it's good to take a break from standing...but the reality is that most UK fans don't stand most of the game so that utopia is far fetched.
