Really like what Humphries is doing

I've posted it in several threads today. Kid needs to play. He is the best low post presence we have. And he can actually score, has some touch and doesn't get bullied like Skal and Marcus. He needs to keep playing. He might be the missing link to a run

he mixed it up. got a block, drew a couple fouls, had a couple offensive rebounds. pretty much one of the best games we've seen down low all year lol.

i don't see anything from skal that is better than hump. i don't mean to pile on but thus far skal looks like a waste of time, since he's projected to leave after this year.

Bad thing when Poythress comes back he won't get any mins again.

He understands the game and plays hard. He anticipated and got a couple of deflections that you would never see from Skal.

He reminded me of Harrellson. And not because he's white either. Made the same type of plays that Josh would make.

Is it just me or was Humphries wide open in the post toward the end of the game and no one would feed him. Do you guys get the feeling our amazing guards aren't interested (or do not trust) that option? If so, are they justified in that?

I'd count at least 3 times from the 6min mark or so Humphries seemed to be calling and seemed to have decent position but didn't get the ball.

Fire away.

Well, I definitely prefer what Hump did to what I've seen of Skal. If there's one thing that's been made exceedingly evident this year it's that this team generally plays better when Skal is NOT on the floor.

Maybe Humphries could be the answer to that issue, but I just don't know if Cal has it in him to completely take out of the rotation his 5 star projected lottery pick guy.

Geez, man, we just beat Fla. down by 19, have a HOF coach, and that's all you got to say?

Can't help but wonder where Humphries might have been if he'd been given all of the opportunities and minutes that Skal's received?
He's miles ahead of Skal even without any chances. Several on here, myself included, have wondered all year why he hasn't gotten any run. He looked fine today. Was he great, no. Was he sufficient, absolutely. Skal hasn't gotten six rebounds since Christmas!! It's 100% obvious just watching Isaac he has a much, much better feel for the low post than Skal ever has. Really hopes he earned some more pt today.

Not going to knock Skal; he'll be playing for money at some point in the future, just needs time to mature.

That said, I honestly think Hump should get more clock simply because he gives you 110% while on the floor, and doesn't mind bangin' down low. Has a nice touch around the basket, and goes after the rebounds and loose balls much better.

Hump classic post-up 5, Skal as a 4, facing the basket. Twin Towers in at the same time! Hey, a guy can dream!

It's mostly because he's white though.
always about color with some people looking for that great white hope well sorry. When Rick came to UK the 1st thing he did was start to get the best black players he could Mash and company and look at the run UK had and is still having so get over it with your uncle is your daddy Joe ant sally is your mom also.

Bingo!! And how much time do you think the coached spend on him, and him alone? Very little I bet. In order to get better, you have to play minutes(12) or so, be coached during those minutes, then watch film and learn by the mistakes you made.

This is what Ulis and Murray was talking about a couple of weeks ago talking about Wynyard and how tough he was inside and his ability to score. Murray said that he knew Wynyard was a good player since he played with him last year and knew he was a good scorer and rebounder. They both said they were waiting for Wynyard to learn all plays both on the offense and defense. I have been really wanting to see what Wynyard would bring as a Center but I guess he is still not ready yet.

Coach Cal seems to give the higher ranked guys more chances than the lower ranked ones. Probably afraid if he goes away from that he loses his big recruiting advantage. I still would have liked to see Humphries get more of Lee's and Skal's minutes during the year.

Do you wear a black beret, carry a billy club, and hang out at polling stations on election day? It seems you're the one getting all upset about it, and lashing out with your bigoted 'inbred' rant.

I can only assume he's redshirting, or just not going to play at this point? Not much season left. But yeah, we need a bulky, hold your position, post up center in the paint in a bad way. It's a shame we don't have Dakari this year.

In 15 minutes, Isaac Humphries had six rebounds, two blocks. Did he earn some potential playing time in the future?
JOHN CALIPARI: Yes, he earned his space, and I’m so happy for him because he has worked so hard and hasn’t had the opportunity, and what he did was he took advantage, and we all look and say, he needs to play. Let him play. And then you’ve got to stop waiting on some other guys, you’ve got to say, hey, he deserves it.

This. Lets let the coach run the team.

^^^Correct!

I saw a couple plays where Hump set the pick and rolled out to about 10 feet from the basket. He was wide open for that shot, and maybe a drive towards the goal... but there wasn't even a look over to him. BUT that has been the norm, this season.

Once the Ulis to Murray to Brisco to Uils to Murray perimeter show starts during a possession, it's rare for a post guy standing outside the paint to get it. Today, with Murray on fire, and Ulis tearing it up... it was definitely justified.

This post sucks on so many levels it's amazing. Congrats

Hump's line: 4 pts, 6 rbs, 2 blocks, 3 fouls. Good job!
Nice line. Thought he had a good game. Would like to see him continue to get some playing time. Seemed to have a nice touch from the foul line when he played earlier in the year as well.

Higher ranked guys also tend to be better.
