Believe it or not, it's not a dookie. It's not even college. No, no...this is in the league.

Today's award goes to P.J. Hairston of the Charlotte Hornets. (Yes, UNC*** players continue to cheat after college.)

Linkety link right here, and a beautiful image below for your amusement/enjoyment/whatever.

Dont they have to pay a fine for doing that in the NBA?

Yep. In fact, PJ got fined $5000 for his performance last night.

If should be a reviewable call in the NCAA if an official thinks it is a flop. It should be a personal on the flopper and a team technical for delay of game. Two shots and the ball.

Exactly right and that would just about put an end to the flopping business. Reviewing the duke flop earlier in the post, that is not the type of flop I would think would warrant the above however. He obviously braced for the charge and started to give in to the contact only the contact never came. As funny as it looks (on him), I don't have near as big of problem with that type of flop (selling it) as I do the flop Jones tried pulling on us and PJ did in the video above. Apparently the fines aren't enough to keep the NBA's from flopping as they continue to do it all the time. I would increase the fines and make it an automatic ejection.

We have to include the Chris Paul flop. Evidently Boogie can knock you over just by thinking mean thoughts.

Wow, I don't remember that one. That is far worse than the other flops because it wasn't even part of game action. He literally walks over to DMC with the intention of pushing off him to draw a foul. That is just sad. There is zero honor in that. I would rather lose every game than have a player like that.

No. That was Julius Hodge who got tagged in the McNuggets.

Boogie took the junk punch from Melvin Goins in the SEC tournament.

I know it is not a dukie but does anyone have the Chris Jones / Dakari flop from this years game? GBB

Must be something in the water over in North Carolina. Paulus (Duke), Bullock (UNC), and Paul (Wake Forrest) all with epic flops.

Goose I'm traveling way back in the time machine to when Paul was at Wake when he raked a Wolfpack player.

These are all great...and maddeningly frustrating.

There's just no place for flopping in basketball, and it would be simple to get rid of it if they really wanted:
As many others have said, allow plays involving flops to be reviewed by replayIf a flop is judged to have occurred, make the penalty severe enough to discourage rat-bastard coaches from teaching it -- automatic ejection, ejection plus one-game suspension, etc...Problem solved.

Yeah..... Julius Hodge.

The flop PJ did is known as the classic Jones MegaTrez maneuver because it incorporates a flop and a dive.

Chris Bosh's Flop on Carlos Boozer is noteworthy too.

On the pathetic side, Boozer was called for an offensive foul on this play. On the awesome karma side, Bosh went 1 for 18 shooting in this game.

You okay? I'm not used to seeing such a serious, cogent post!

Please tell me Boogie didn't get called for a foul on this.

With his flopping skills Louisville's Chris Jones would surely be a NBA Flop Star. Here is a reenactment of the Jones flop after a phantom brush with Dakari's elbow.

Haha just trying to showcase my versatility -- don't wanna get type-cast as only being able to play comedy.

The louisville game flops from this year are some of the worst flops you'll ever see.

None of those flops compare to the Harrell flop. A guy his size literally throwing himself around like he did is despicable. How anyone respects the screaming flopper is beyond me.

This is and Chris Jones ones are the funniest to me b/c the acting was taken to a new level.

I agree on Jones but at least in the above, Boozer was very close to Bosh's face so he could almost sell it. Heck, even Dakari was within 8-10" or so. But Hairston *threw* himself across the court and nearly to the bench from damned near the free throw line. THAT'S commitment.

Take a look a Montrezzel's reaction in that gif. He's backing up like "you better put the outta control dude on a leash". It's like he and Jones had planned it.

I think it should be an automatic technical the first time. Second time, A tech on the player and the coach. Third time, tech on the player and coach, causing the coach to be ejected. Fourth time, forfeit. You dont belong on the court anymore.

Actually I think he was mad that Jones beat him to the flop.

Would have been hilarious if both players flopped on the same play.

You mean like these two NY Giants did back in 2011?
