Has anyone else noticed that most of Damien's retweets has been UK centric. Since yesterday Harris has retweeted 8 tweets form UK fans, media & UK players and one retweet from a bama source. If your just going by twitter I would say he's picking UK.

Or it could be he realizes he is going to let down a lot of hometown fans and he is just trying to ease the disappointment by giving hope for a little longer and showing he cares lol.

"Bingville don't stand no chance. Bingville, gonna see my dance! Hey, wanna see the new Tweeter endzone dance? Know what it's called? The new Tweeter endzone dance." Love that movie. lol

Alot of the current in state players are tweeting about how great it is playing at home. Obviously sending messages to try and sway Harris. Doing a great job of showing him he's wanted by the fans and team alike.

"Ease the disappointment by giving hope for a little longer" is an oxymoron.
He's young but I doubt he thinks leading a large group of people on until his decision would ease disappointment.

You won't hear me say one bad word about Damien Harris no matter who he chooses today. I'm not going to throw a party for him choosing Bama if that's the case, but you know what I mean.

I will say though, he put himself in a potentially rough spot yesterday. The public tide had turned towards Bama, and I think a lot of UK fans were beginning to brace themselves and accept that he wasn't coming here. Now whether or not that's the case, we'll see. But I think the process had begun for a lot of fans to move on and accept we were losing this kid. Then yesterday with the exception of, what, one re-tweet for Bama(?), he is all UK. Even going as far as to re-tweet one of those "RT if you want D Harris to be a CAT!" deals. What he did yesterday, between that and the interaction with Drew Barker, is give people hope again. He has set the table now for a suspenseful decision at 1:15 today.

He's free to do as he wishes, obviously. But if the pick is Bama, and he knows its Bama, that was incredibly cruel to do to this fan base what he did on Twitter yesterday. Bring everyone back from the brink only to break their hearts. Wouldn't make him a bad kid in the least, but it would have been some poor judgment.

So here's hoping he's a Cat and this is all irrelevant.

For months now ive said Harris is going to Kentucky. Here in about an hour it will be made public.
Just enjoy the ride BBN. GO BIG BLUE.

Well said. If the tweets would have more mixed I would not have thought anymore about it but he brought me back in with those re-tweets.

Has he had Twitter contact with Elam yesterday/today? He seems to be the one UK player he's closest to.

Yeah Elam twitted for BBN to get behind Harris before he makes his decision.

Most likely any personal chatting he's going to do with Elam or any one else is going to be through direct messaging and/or txting.

He played the UK fan base yesterday on twitter. He said he knew it was Bama on his official visit.

BigSexyCat, that is the thing that bothers me. It seems like the fan base felt it was Bama Wednesday, then he builds UK fans back up yesterday and does this. There was a lot better way to handle this then the way he did.

And that's how that went down.

There are already people on this board acting a fool over this. I'm not mad, but I just hope in the future when he's faced with a similar type of public decision that he handles it better. Stringing the fans along yesterday for the sake of a suspenseful announcement was just flat out mean and unnecessary. It's one thing if he's doing it to Ohio State. But doing it to the local fans was crappy.

Couldn't agree more. I think he done it for kicks and giggles.

Not just the fan base. The coaching staff got played too. Which is even worse. The kid has a lot of growing up to do.

I wouldn't mind giving him a foot, straight up his arse. Looking back over this whole recruitment, he looks like a jackass who knew where he was going for a long time and strung us along just for excitement. So forget him.

Like I said in another thread, I hope he finds a nice home for him and his mom in Birmingham or Montomery after his playing days are done. I don't want him back in Kentucky. Maybe him and Shaun Alexander can go in on a house together.

this is a case of being "special" - i don't think he means to be a careless bitch but he is too young to know better and has had everyones lips sewn to his ass for a long time. no one can be surprised he gamed the situation a bit and enjoyed all the attention.

he milked the attention for all it was worth and damaged UK's recruiting in the process

That's exactly what happened. Shame on him for playing us to the last minute.

And double shame for not telling Mark Stoops and the staff prior to his announcement. Stoops was deeply invested in the kid for two years and he doesn't even give Coach Stoops the courtesy of a man to man reveal of his decision.

Lost respect for the kid today.

^^^^^ These! Go Cats!!

Was it on this board yesterday or twitter where some kid was saying he knew Damien and that he was just playing bbn for a fool and was going to Bama, that he was a selfish person and all that stuff.

What does Shaun Alexander have to do with this? Bill Curry didn't even recruit him. Now he may or may not have come to Kentucky, but it's damn tough to commit when you don't even have an offer.

Just dissapointed, like a lot of other UK fans, probably in the millions. And yes, Bama fans would have been disappointed, but all they would have had to do is look at the FIVE other five star commits they already have, their returning great RBs with another five star that very well might be better with a spring practice ahead of Harris, and they should get over it in a couple of minutes. They might have twice the fans we do, frontrunners like the winner, and we have a lot in basketball, but the total disappointment in the fan base is much greater in the UK segment I am confident, despite the number of fans.
