One of the coolest things about D. was that for anyone in the Northeast, and I'd imagine most places in the U.S... the weather was pretty warm. I was able to watch the game at a family friends house, out on his deck with a real nice patio bar and big screen TV.

Not many Kentucky games do you get to see that aren't indoors... at least for me.

I remember being at Two Keys for that one and it was surprisingly comfortable sitting at the outside bar for that one....the John Wall shots were probably helping that cause, too.

I thought the same thing.. then realized he meant a menu item called "John Wall Shots".. and now I'm intrigued. I've only been there a handful of times.

I can't imagine what it must be like to watch these sports in say Florida or SoCal.

Anyone who doubts that the 2012 and 2014 wins were the greatest by far, imagine a world in which Kentucky LOST those two games: Louisville, at a minimum, in back-to-back championship games and probably a three-peat of at least the Final Four (of course, you could say it would have been just more banners to forfeit, but Kentucky would have lost a championship and a final game appearance.)

I think E in particular was huge. That UL team was much better than a 4 seed and had a legit chance to go back to back and UL fans know it.

I've lived in Louisville my whole life so I have a ton of UL fan friends that are still extremely bitter about that game. My brother is one of them and he's all but stopped watching basketball the last few years. I think that game broke him.

Ofcourse a lot of that has since been replaced by their focus on the scandal. But until this stuff surfaced they were pretty sore over that game.

A lot of you weren't around for the older ones. We HAD to win A. They won the Dream Game and finally got the series they wanted. If they came out and beat us in Rupp to open the next season, man. And if they had won B after getting stomped in A, then all bragging rights for A would have been null and void.

C was huge, too. Pitino lost the first game to Tubby, then beat us by 19 in Freedom Hall and nine at Rupp. Then they led 32-16 at half in the Sparks game. That was a HUGE snatcheroo for us.

And F....well....F defined the rivalry, didn't it?

I just always give top billing to the NCAA tourney.

Been watching since '78 championship game and agree with most everything you said but the farther into the tourney the game is, the bigger the stakes and bragging rights.
