I know this is random as hell, but has anyone noticed during this season that when UK lose a game there are a couple of "UK fans" on this board that will pop up but when UK wins ( Duke, UL etc.) they're no where to be seen to enjoy the win with other UK fans on here. Its like they want UK to lose so they can lead the hate train on this team or Coach Cal in a attempt to praised their favorite coach Bruce Pearl (Cut-Nets). I would say its UL fans acting like that but these guys been on here for awhile now. Don't get me wrong this team deserves the criticism but its a pattern that they're waiting and hoping for UK to lose just so they can pop up on here and say I told you so. I just think its odd for a true UK fan to do that.

I can say this. When we lose there are many posters leading rants of whom I've never heard of or seen post in random threads. I just think some people thrive on being overly critical. They never seem to be heard from on days we do well or in times when praise is warranted.

We have been plagued by trolls since Gore invented these intranets.

Zipp or Cutnets whichever name you want to call him, and these others are simply what we have to endure because we are who we are.

The trolls don't bother me near as bad as the actual fans who dislike our coach and whine about things incessantly.

And I am not referring to general coach criticism, which I do as well. Some are simply constant with every post.

Cal has several flaws but the stupidity of some on here is mind numbing. Not to mention the fact that the drought from 98 is forgotten by these dweebs.

I've noticed it after a loss we've got about 10-15 handles I've never seen before suddenly appearing and you look at them and they've been registered for 2-3 years but have only 15-20 posts. They only use the account to pile on. Then we've got a couple who start 3-5 threads a day and 90% of it is negative, or bashing our next opponent, harping on silly little crap, etc.

Even if they ARE truly UK fans, they aren't good ones. It's the small vocal percentage that spew enough venom to drown out the real fans that frustrate the crap out of me.....

I think I have some serious fandom issues. The Wisconsin loss sent me over the edge and into a month long depression. After seeing us beat Duke, I thought we were on our way back to a championship style season. I handled the UCLA loss okay thinking our first road game may be tough. The Ohio State loss sent me over the edge with anger so much that I didn't even enjoy the Louisville win the week after. I went to church the next morning after the Oh St loss and barley spoke to anyone. The LSU loss I went in expecting to lose and was not upset at all. I think I go the most crazy when my expectations get too high. At this point I have a feeling we're not going to do much this year. And that feeling is rooted in anger thinking we should be doing much better. At some point I'm sure my expectations will get high again and I'll go off the deep end. I don't know how to just enjoy the team. I've been like this watching the CATS religiously for over 30 years. I wish I could enjoy the games and separate it from my personal life but I don't know how to get rid of the extremes. Yes. I have issues.

Always more to talk about after a loss. Sure, there's probably some UL fans that show up and stir the pot but misery loves company.

Can you run this back for me? I noticed it last night, so is it a counter-troll tactic or is there some evidence of a link between the two? I'll hang up and listen.

You can never be 100% sure but lots of smoke over the years.

We have known for a long time that Zipp posts over here.

A couple of posters examined this awhile back.

Lots of similarities in post style, and at times the same content mentioned on both boards under different user names.

Cut will let a UL line slip now and then.

Cut is not an idiot, Zipp has 2 master degrees.

One of the most masterful troll jobs ever here, unless we find out that petjurino really is a UK fan.

It's the nature of the internet in general. It's easy to be critical, it's more difficult to be analytical. Cal and his system have their flaws though we do have the opposite of those poster's. A few who simply refuse to acknowledge that. His frequent inability to get his teams fired up for tough road games among them, and it's in part due to his always having mostly young and inexperienced teams. His record on the road in the SEC is easily his worst at UK though of course he's run the table twice. An amazing accomplishment in any league at any level. And almost every coach has a better record at home than on the road. Thing is this is Kentucky. We expect to win anywhere, and over my decades as a fan the fact that we frequently go into other teams places and win no matter how good they are is one of the things I've always been most proud of. That's why a performance like we saw Tuesday is so frustrating to me. It's unrealistic sure, but I expect to see our best effort every time out. If we give that and lose I'm more OK with it though I'm never happy after any loss. I don't think any of us are with the exception of those few like you mentioned.

The posers are just sitting there waiting for any opportunity to post negative stuff. I do believe a fan has the right to be critical but a true fan is on here all the time not just in the bad times.

I try to remember back during the Tubby years when I'd get on here after a frustrating loss and all the sunshine pumpers would dog me because I wasn't supporting the coach,

so while I am at a complete loss as to why anyone would complain about the current state of our program even with a few losses, I try to bite my lip on chastising them because I was on the other side of the coin once. I didn't particularly care for someone telling me when I could or could not criticize the coach or program.

What I have found however is, like many folks in the past, I don't frequent this board as often because I read some thread titles and I want to punch someone on the nose.
