Rams

Not if its just to fulfill the Rooney rule its not.

Their RB coach that most thought was the frontrunner for the job is black iirc. Plus not sure that rule applies to anything other than head coach.

Also sounds like they're interviewing some guy from LSU. More good news because imo it sounds like coen might've already declined. Otherwise can't imagine they make it down to this guy

I read these developments the same, Coen has declined IF he has interviewed.

I personally think the offer has already been made and turned down. Why do I think this? Because I’m a positive thinker. If he wanted the job, it would have been his already. It would be a seamless move. The fact they are interviewing others tells me all I need to know. We got a good thing going here. He’s not finished and he’s paid pretty well. I think he genuinely likes it here

I highly doubt coen even needed to interview. The job was almost surely his if he wanted it. The only real competition was the RB coach.

If they're interviewing LSU guy then coen surely said no. It was already decent news to see the other NFL candidate emerge but this LSU news is even better. They don't interview this LSU guy unless coen said no. Jmo

The Rooney Rule was modified to include Coordinators and sets a minimum of two minority interviews.

Viks hire diff guy than the Rams RB coach as their OC. Good development for us keeping Coen IMO. McVey internal hire still in house.

It also says brown is returning to the staff. That should be their oc, as most their insiders expected when this all started to unfold.

IMO there is, or already happening, a lot of pressure on the Rams & McVey to hire a minority as his next OC. Kind of a bad issue for the entire NFL right now.

Viks just hired McVey white OC as HC, who hires a white OC. Don't think it looks great with the outcry of lack of minority opportunity in the NFL if the Rams turn around & hire yet another white boy OC.

Don't see the Coen situation going on much longer. Expect to hear a resolution soon based on nothing but a guess.

I think you're going to hear something one way or another this week. I don't have any inside info but it's clear that neither the Rams, Coen nor UK want this to drag out. All parties involved here are going to want a fast turn around on this. UK and Coen especially since spring practice is only weeks away.

Are they trying to work out an NIL deal for Coen to outmatch the Rams offer?
