Quote from Vandergriff’s dad

I just bought new tires for my car, if that helps. OH, and I saved hundreds by switching to Geico

He answered a lot of questions in a thread he started on HOB. Was very informative and answered like a coach and a father.

I just spent $1200 on a new thermostat and water pump on a 2013 Cadillac I bought off friends two years ago for $1,000. Now that I think of it, that kind of sums up our QB situation last year.

UK fans need to realize this is gonna be a 2 yr journey, like with Levis.

IMO the reason Levis was successful here is because he was unfinished, Coen could mold him into what he wanted to run his scheme. Leary didn't work out because he was a finished product, and his completed skills just didn't mesh with what Coen needs his qb to do.

So with Vandagriff we are going back to development, that's why we didn't pursue any 1-and-done guys.

No we don’t.
Why wouldn't you? I have no idea how good BV will be in the SEC, he will be like any other first time starter, if the game slows down for him he will do well because he has the talent to do well, if it doesn't he will struggle because no amount of talent can overcome confusion

It wasn’t a comment on BV. Hopefully he will be great. I just don’t think UK will have the depth to have a shot of making the Top 12 out of the SEC anytime soon.

Did you think Missouri would in 23? With a 22 team playoff they were in. I know I didn't think they would be as good as they were. Auburn will be much improved in 24, they are spending big for skill players out of HS and hitting portal for both fronts. Hugh and AU were made for each other.

Hope yours right. I will say Mizzou got a very down SEC without OU and Texas and probably has a little better recruiting area than UK to develop depth. I live in ATL btw and root for UGA and ga tech if not playin UK.

Mizzou surprised me but they did it in the last year of divisions. Making the playoff would require Stoops’ best record ever at UK and he’ll have to do it against the toughest schedule he’s faced. It’s not impossible just really tough and tougher going forward.

It stinks that we play Georgia so early. Not that we would win, but that he could get his confidence rattled early in the season

Destin Wade's dad probably thinks the same way about his son.

There are many obvious differences, man. Vandagriff is a UK Wildcat. Destin Wade is not. Vandagriff wants to play in blue and white. Destin does not. Vandagriff's Dad is enthusiastic about Brock becoming a Wildcat. Destin's Dad has been toxic. Destin received 5 SEC scholarship offers and some of those were actually chasing his twin brother. Whereas Vandagriff had 10 SEC scholarship offers including GA and AL, and none of those had anything to do with a sibling. So your effort to draw parallels between them falls flat.

No, Vandagriffs dad knows his son is talented, but has realistic expectations and realizes it takes experience and time to develop and reach his goal of the NFL. He realizes it may be a two year deal for him. Destin’s dad has unrealistic expectations.

Most Suburbans need to move to TE.
CC good to see you back, I received the 10 day ban from our lib friends on the other thread.
Hope this kid at QB works out for Kentucky football, it would be great to see these kids skyrocket back up to the top and I hope this guy will use his athleticism and improvise and take some chances. Merry Christmas to you and yours 🍺
