Who is calling the plays for UK?? Dawson Alone?? Stoops alone?? Or a combination?? For those who know coaching. Do the offensive coordinator and the head coach get together before the game and set an offensive game plan?? Or does the head coach just respect the decisions of the Offensive Coordinator?? How is it done??

I think without a doubt the coordinators and head coach get together and do the gameplan. With Stoops being a defensive guy I believe he would be more involved with the defensive gameplan than the offensive gameplan. I think he could say he wants a particular % of the plays to be run, but as to what type run I think he leaves that up to the OC. But the OC is new, it could take time to for trust to be complete. When I was coaching, before all the HUNH spread offenses become so popular, I was more involved with the D because it was my background, but I tried to trust my DC, after all I was the one who hired him, but I wanted to change up coverages and blitz packages and try not to show any trends. I tried to stay out of the offensive scheme and playcalling, except for the 4th down plays, OC's always wanted to go for it regardless, lol.

Hopefully Stoops stays out of the offensive game plan except for very general stipulations, like % of runs vs pass, otherwise he is WIll Muschamp 2. Muschamp didn't want the OC to do anything that would put his defense in a bad position, made it impossible for the OC to be successful. He had a new one every year I think. I think the longer a coach is a head coach it gets easier to let the DC's do their job, especially on the side of the ball they coached. If Stoops is trying to call offensive plays, I don't think he can be successful, veto power of course. I don't think he is, but he could be limiting what the playcaller can call. Richt did that our first 2 games this year, said Saturday was the first game our new OC could call anything in the playbook.
