Question about tickets for those of you that have been to the SEC Tournament...

I'm going this year for the first time. My boy is 18 and about to go off to college some place (UK, I'm pretty sure - we couldn't get him to even consider any place else). And I'm suddenly realizing I should have done more of this kind of thing over the years - I should have taken him to his first SEC tournament when he was 8, instead of waiting until he's 18. Maybe his younger brother will benefit from my thick-headedness. heh.

Anyway, I have no idea how to do the tickets. My son has to work both Saturday and Sunday, and can't miss 3 full days of school, so the best we can do is both sessions on Thursday and both on Friday. The only thing left on Ticketmaster are upper arena seats. The two Thursday sessions start at $30 per, and the two Friday sessions start at $70 per. If you carry your 1.....that's going to be $200, or $400 for the both of us.

Is that the smart play - should I just buy 2 tickets for each of the 4 sessions on Ticketmaster and be done with it?

Should I just buy tickets for the first session so I can get in, then try to scalp the other sessions from fans of losing teams headed home?

Should I buy the whole book (which looks like it will cost $500 for two), just so I can sell those to others looking for Saturday and Sunday seats to make some of the money back (don't really care about this one, it's just occurring to me now.....)

Thanks for any suggestions......

Buy cheap tickets on StubHub for Thursday games and you may be able to move down.
Splurge on Friday for good seats and brings us home a winner!

I have 2 lower level tix for all the games on Thur and the Fri night session. I am only going to the UK sessions.

I have been to a couple sec tournaments. I usually go with stubhub. It is much easier than trying to find someone wanting to sell other than scalpers. And I don’t trust scalpers at all. I know a lot do. But I’m just skeptical by profession I guess.

Enjoy this time! My son is 2 and I am already planning on when I take him to his first game.

Buy a Vandy or other SEC teams t-shirt and wait for the losers to walk out and buy 'em cheap...

Then burn said shirt [laughing]

Stub hub safe but unreasonably high, I have never been hurt by street vendors, just don't bite on first offer they will negotiate, or try buying from losing teams some will sell some will not. Be sure and take along a map of Scottrade and look :eyes: to see where those seats you are trying to get are, thats the only time I got burned a little sometimes that misguide on where you seats are.

I just gave away 2 sets of lower arena tickets for Wednesday and Thursday. If I had known sooner!!! You can't give them away. I would buy from scalpers or losers!

I just happened to think I have a friend that has lower level section 103 tickets for Wed-thursday and maybe Friday, he is a Florida fan I got acquainted with two years ago at SEC Tourney as he and his wife sat by me, if interested in pursuing this just answer back and I will contact you.
