Does anyone know if the early round games in St.Louis would be linked to the Louisville Regional site?

I don't think they decide that any more until the bracket is actually completed. The odds are yes, but it depends on what teams end up in what regions.

Under the new NCAA POS system the early round sites are not linked to any regions but the idea is to let the best teams play as close to home as possible. If the Cats are a top 8 team you can be pretty sure they will play as close to home as possible.

I thought they are tweaking that system this year?

when I get my tickets, can anyone tell me the phone number of the University of Louisville escort service?

I think if UK is a 1-2 seed they will get to play in the closest pod possible in the first two rounds.

I'm pretty sure for the Louisville regional though we need to be the top 1 seed to be assured to go there. If we are the 4th one seed and all 4 one seeds are say KU, Duke, UNC and UK...we go out west. I am pretty sure Louisville is the closest place to Duke and UNC mileage wise as well...so yeah, we want to get that top 1 seed.

Actually the regions are: Louisville, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Anaheim....sooooo Duke and UNC would likely go to Philly.

Not if they're both 1 seeds. The guy you were responding to is right. If UNC and Duke are both 1 seeds ahead of UK (or if any 2 teams from the East are ahead of UK), then the top one goes to Philly, and the next likely goes to Louisville.

It might not be easy for UK to get the Louisville Region unless UK finishes the season rated #1 or 2 overall. 5 of the top 6 in the preseason poll are closest to either Philly or Louisville. And if UK slips up enough to not be a 1 seed, the selection committee might be very hesitant to send UK to Louisville, because it will be seen as unfair to the 1 seed.

I was speaking to his assertion that Chapel Hill and Durham are closer to Louisville in mileage than any other regional site because both are closer to Philly than Louisville. What is interesting is I believe the committee tries to give the #1 seed what it perceives to be is it's first choice of playing destination and then moves on down the list to the #2 ranked overall team and so forth down the list. Understanding how the tickets work for the regionals everybody has to know that the overwhelming majority of tickets for Louisville are already purchased by UK fans because they go on sale so far in advance. Yes a lot of UK ticket holders would scalp there tickets if UK was placed in another region but a significant portion would also still go to the games because they are so close. I don't think a UNC or DUKE would EVER want to go play in Louisville instead of Chicago because a huge portion of the crowd is going to be UK fans even if UK isn't there and would be hostile to them. I wonder if a school would publicly lobby to not be put in Louisville....just food for thought.

Yeah, you are right. It so does not look that way on the map lol. It is a bit closer mileage wise. So yeah, if we are the 2nd 1 seed we will be ok probably to go to Louisville, but still if we are the 4th one we won't be, or probably the 3rd one.

It will be a fascinating sub-plot to follow all year. You can't know until closer to tournament time but I suspect we would rather play in Louisville even if it means we have to go a seed level down or even two levels down. All I know is after how many damn times both UNC and DUKE got regionals in North Carolina if we don't get Louisville and it's close I'm going to lose my s%&@! But as MJ2k10 pointed out UNC, Duke, Maryland, Virginia, and Villanova are all projected to be Top 10 teams and only 1 gets to be in Philly.
