I think Cade McNamara is still the potential best portal QB, but Hank B isn't a bad 2nd option.

He had a decent offer sheet out of high school, but he’s not actually been that amazing at Boise St., and the timing of the decision to transfer now immediately after going 13/34 for 93 yards in a loss to UTEP makes it seem like the writing may be on the wall that he was going to be benched. We’re in trouble next year if we’re looking at him as a possibility for QB1.
Ewers will be in year 3 once Manning arrives. They may lose the QB playing right now while Ewers is hurt though.
This isn't your father's Boise, that program has slipped significantly.

You must have seen something I haven't. I haven’t seen anything about how any of our backup quarterbacks are developing. I will say that since coach Scan has a history of being a quarterback guru , I’m optimistic.

Quentin already used his 1 get out of jail free card, when he left Ohio. Now if he transfers would have to sit out.
I've heard speculation the Manning camp want Cooper to sit in 2023 and for Ewers to take the beating of the last zombie year Texas is in the Big 12. Then Manning ready to roll in 2024 against SEC.
Take the beating?! He won’t be taking that beating till he’s in the SEC. Now I know… all Manning’s played in the SEC, but wouldn’t it make sense to get reps in while in the inferior Big 12?

Some sports guy in New Orleans said on a podcast the Manning family plan is Coop redshirt or only appears in 4 games in '23. Then takes starting job in '24, as a RS frosh, with Texas playing full SEC conf schedule.
They don't want to build his brand playing the likes of Kansas/TX Tech/Iowa St/Baylor. He's worth too much for TV ratings and advertising. They want him on the field against Bama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Texas a&m.
