Projection on how the non-conference men’s basketball success of the SEC & Big Ten may impact the numbers of NCAA Tournament at-large bids available

I get it but man I rather see some mid major school get in vs some 18-12 SEC team*

Not me. I want the better and more talented teams in.

I'd rather the more talented teams got n for the football playoff as well.
You lose what makes March Madness so magical though. Getting beat by Oakland was embarrassing for us but was so exciting and shocking for everyone else.

If a 20-10 Michigan St team upsets a higher seed who gives a shizz?

I normally get what you are saying. But this year is different. NIL and the transfer portal are changing basketball more than the shot clock, even more than the 3pt basket ever did. There may only be 1 "bad" team out of 16 in the SEC this year. But because of that, but someone has to lose those (16*9)=144 conference games other than USC, there may be some good teams that go 5-13, 6-12, 7-11 in the SEC after going 11-2 non-conference with more quality wins than losses.

Also, keep in mind that conferences used to have 8-10 teams, and now they have 16. You are talking about a 60%-100% increase in the number of teams, so naturally a 60-100% increase in the number of quality teams. So back in the 80's the 10 team SEC would put 5 teams in, that equates to 8 teams now.

BUT... if there is little to no difference in a P5 school and a mid-major, yeah, I say give the mid-major the chance.
