Certainly has a nice team to start out with.Great late hire for Iowa State.
Yeah. Both Murray and WKU have launched a lot of careers.Murray St seems to be THE place to go as a coach to step up to a higher division. Even in football they have had some good coaches like Houston Nutt.
Frank Beamer coached there also, Murray's not a bad job in either sport. Mark Gottfried and Ron Greene had stints at Murray as well, I hate to see Prohm go.Murray St seems to be THE place to go as a coach to step up to a higher division. WKU alum as well, most years WKU is one or two guys away from making some noise in the early rounds of the NCAAT,Harper may catch lightening in a bottle one of these years if he is there long enough(I've heard that some of the powers that be at WKU are not as happy with Harper as they once were)As a WKU alum, I feel your pain Racer fans.
I'm still not over Darrin Horn. He should have stayed on the Hill and he would still be coaching. He would have had a chance to become the next Diddle if he stayed, IMHO.
Too young,I wish,I was speaking in terms of recent WKU history when they have been one or 2 players away in terms of getting to the big dance and winning a game. Lee &Co fit that mold but since that time the Hill is not the sameYou guys may be too young to remember but WKU used to have a powerhouse basketball program.
Murray St used to have some outstanding teams in the 80's and 90's. I still vividly remember Murray playing KU to the wire in '88 and giving Mich St a huge scare as Popeye really dominated the post.

As a follower I predate Clem,Chapman and the Smith twins and played football against Dunn at Gamaliel so young is wayyy in my rear view mirror
Laughing at MSU now for giving this guy a new contract for $500k a year to keep him after whining for weeks that Alabama never mentioned his name in their search. Now they have set a bad precedent for incoming coaches and the plan didn't even work.
