We were a more complete team when Joker/Randy Sanders was running s pro-Style offense.

The problem with the spread is that it is soft and it allows your defense to get soft also.

When we had the pro-style offense our defense was much more physical.

Without a physical team we will simply continue to be the soft team we are.

Not sure what is even meant by spread anymore. Spread to run? Spread to pass? Even the most pro-style teams incorporate spread concepts and vice versa. You aren't a fan of the air raid?

Not sure about softness, but we need to execute:

Our QB must be more consistent
We need to utilize the middle of the field
We need to contain the ends
We need to learn how to play against the read option

Maybe spread is the wrong term. Regardless the name you use. UK has got to be able to run the ball on first down. We have to be able create an advantage at the LOS (Line of scrimmage) currently, we DONT.

Joker and Sanders , inspite of what some may say, did a fine job while here. They used the short passes and screen package on a heavy basis and were pretty successful.
We need to see more intermediate passing and more from the te. Hell, anything from the te.

We had a pretty bad defense under those coaches. Conveniently forgetting that?

Woodson, johnson, little, locke, conner, tamme, burton, etc. That was probably the most talented GROUP we've ever had in this history of this program. Alphonso smith has played 5 years in the NFL and didn't even amass 1,000 yards rushing in 4 years while he was here. We had talent.

That being said, we maxed out at 7 wins. Teams like Baylor (who largely recruits worse than us) and Oregon (who only recruits slightly better than us) is who we should model after. If you think we're going to line up against sec teams with talent that pales in comparison and beat them at their own game, then don't bitch at the 2-6 conference records.
