Poythress out 2 more week?

If it is a meniscus tear, then he will only aggravate the knee when he returns. A tear will require surgery if that is what it is. Hopefully it is a strain like an MCL. A bone bruise can also take awhile to get over.

Didn't he already have a procedure to repair it over 2 weeks ago? Therefore I assume it was a tear. Which players can come back in a few weeks depending on the severity I believe.

I doubt he will be 100% the rest of the season, even if he comes back. With so much silence on UK's part, makes me think it is more serious, and/or taking longer to heal. And Calipari may be keeping it quiet to protect Poythress's NBA future.

Cal himself has said he would play Tuesday or the following game.

It's going to be a struggle for as long as we have to play without Poy AND Willis. Humphries is going to have to step up huge the rest of the way. "Foul" calls were doing a number on us with everyone healthy, with only a 3 man rotation of bigs it's going to be even worse.

We really can't afford to drop the Alabama "trap" game with two road games and LSU at home still to come. We could easily end up on the 8/9 line if we drop more than two of those and put in a poor showing in the SEC tournament (of course, that worked out okay for us in '13-'14). A thin roster with SEC officials known for "leaving it up to their own discretion" is a bit concerning.

He has already had surgery.

These bullshit injuries really try your patience..very very frustrating
Which bullshit injuries are you referring to? A torn meniscus? A sprained ankle? You act like players should never get hurt and or when they do, we should have a miracle performed by the training staff to immediately heal them.

Cal being quiet now, will have no bearing on Poy's NBA future. He will have to work out for them and be seen by physicians, before draft day. They do not waste a draft pick without knowing what they are drafting.

or that they're getting injured on purpose?

I think he's referring more to the secrecy and false reports that Cal handles these injuries. Hawkins' injury was day to day for weeks, Poy was expected to play the next game after the injury according to Robic. I mean no joke, I expect to not have Willis the rest of the year. Cal can handle things the way he wants obviously, but I feel the OP's aggravation.

Its very frustrating...all i can really say about it...when i try to express how i feel i get blasted by several people on here which is even more frustrating. So instead of speaking my mind i will just say these injuries and length of each one is very frustrating

I completely agree, and I'm surprised that there isn't more discussion about it.

It would've been nice if the officials would have allowed our guys to win the game last night because I'm not sure we're going to be at full strength again this season.

I can't see the post you are answering to here, but I'll guarantee I know who posted the comment you're responding to. Have him on ignore now because of the asinine injury comments yesterday.

Didn't you know @jedwar ...players are supposed to just play through all injuries. Doesn't matter if they can't walk, or are in horrible pain...they have to play through or they are either lazy or faking it.

Smh

Poy has been missing since 2012-2013 season minus about 10 games where he played like he is capable of.
The posters on this board acting like he is gonna be the key to some March tournament run are crazy.
Other than providing 5 extra fouls he is a hindrance to the offense on this team. The last 5 games or so proves that.
