Absolutely brutal performance to watch. Without a doubt the low point of the Mark Stoops era.
Stoops' seat isn't hot but he'd better make a bowl game this season. If they finish 5-7 then next year is make or break.
Absolutely nothing positive to take from the game today. Defense did hold up pretty well in the first half and they came with some fight. But remember, this is a Georgia offense that has been playing historically bad football by their standards.
That they would run the ball like that does not bode well for the remainder of the season. Take away the Vanderbilt game in 2012 and I'm not sure that this team beats that team by more than a few points. Can't say that they "quit" because I still saw guys running around and trying to make plays, but mentally and emotionally they are clearly lost. Don't know how they rally. Vanderbilt will probably be the favorite heading into the next game and, truthfully, they should be.
Special teams were the culprit early. Penalty on a punt, penalty on a kickoff return, fumbled punt -- led to all of Georgia's first 10 points.
Surprised they waited so long to put Barker in. If you believe that Patrick Towles isn't the main problem them I am 100-percent with you. But there comes a time when you have to see if someone else can provide a spark, even if it's against the odds. Barker's not going to have more time than Towles -- nobody is. But it was painfully obvious when it was 17-3 that the offense wasn't going to do anything. The offensive possessions were legitimately wasted with Towles in the game after that, because they were not going to rally. It was obvious.
I don't have too much to add beyond that.
