That was sure ugly...you go into the tournament with by far the best hitting team in the league and were completely shut down. Our top four hitters were 10-46 .233BA with 2 doubles. The pitching carried the bacon for the most part while the bats plated 1 unearned run in 16 innings. The base running and fielding were nothing short of awful...hopefully the CATS can still get that national seed and that the folks will get out and fill the stadium full of BLUE to cheer the team to resurgence of the way they have played most of the season...#GOCATS!!

Cats need to quit worrying about the national seed at this point and just go out and play ball. No crying if they don't get the national seed (they probably won't considering the last 4 weeks as a whole). Just get back to playing loose and having fun (minus the hideous base running).

Been saying this for a while now, but Mingione needs to get more conservative on the bases, we make WAY too many outs on the base paths, by CS, pick offs, or running into outs where we have little chance of being called safe at the plate. Can't give up 2 or three outs per game by poor base running.

Amen, especially with a team of .300 hitters...have had several several post on here about that, but sometimes I'm screaming at the 3rd base coach...way too many times this year we've been thrown out at home without a prayer. Now guys getting picked off is the players fault...hope next weekend is a great weekend for the guys.

It's not the aggression that bothers me. I love aggressive base running. What bothers me is mistakes that are entirely mental. Like Squires getting thrown out last week at second by the catcher because he was just napping. Same with Lewis last night.

Saying all this, when your pitchers throw for a 2 hitter and you score 1 unearned in 16 innings that is the major problem.

The good and bad of this is that our best hitters struggled. It's bad because they are our best, but good that they should be the most likely to bounce back
