I didn't think much of the offensive game plan at all. I'm not sure we ever passed on first down until the last drive.
Agreed, defense was gassed in the 4th. Butvthey gave up too many 3rd and long plays
While I agree, this isn't the defenses fault, this is by scheme. You can't rush 3 guys and play soft zone and not give up big plays. The few downs we actually brought pressure, you saw good results.

How the eff do you justify a defense that gave up 17 pts an A?
The defense gave up 17 points (below their average over the last 3 years) in spite of our horrendous "bend don't break" 3rd down scheme that USC finally figured out.
Wright, Weaver, Valentine and Square don't deserve the mud you guys are slinging. Our defense is legit when our Offense and ST doesn't force them into some BS. And, even then, they've won us more games than lost as a result over the past few season.s

I was implying your disrespect doesn't match their effort. This isn't 2014, our defense is full of legitimate dudes who make plays. Our scheme? Pretty terrible. Holding any team in the SEC to 17 points (giving USC the ball on the 1 to start the game isn't on the defense) is impressive.
If your takeaway was that we gave up too many 3rd down conversions, I'd agree with you. But I'm agreeing in the same since that it's stupid to have a sports car and drive 10 below the speed limit. Be proactive, let players make plays. Our defense isn't designed to completely stop you it's designed to not give up big TD plays. We do that well, but sometimes we still falter.
Spencer ratler may be one of the worst qbs in power 5 football.... the d knew they needed to come up big tonight but kind of got bullied in the second half, I agree we need more offensive points
Agreed. But give any Power 5 QB a 5 second pocket and he'll find someone eventually. UK has done this for as long as I can remember. We used to do it to protect our secondary, now we do it because it's our "scheme".
Bend don't break but we sometimes break. Our coaches didn't put the players in a position to "come up big".
The whole damn team from the coaches on down gets an F- tonight.
Offense - D-, CROD got 125+ yards, which keeps this from being an "F". Unacceptable play here. QB did some nice things, but the play-calling wasn't great, and he missed some throws.
Defense - C-, Played great in the first half and just gave up in the second half - SC made some adjustments and UK had no answers.
Special Teams: F - Completely unacceptable
Coaching: D- Very poor overall; Stoops coached not to lose, and it showed tonight. One of the worst efforts since Tennessee in 2018.
