* Good solid win by the Cats today the result of a good effort in the 2nd half. ASU is a good, scrappy, aggressive team ... a good test for the Cats. Cats are a very good team, probably not an elite team though ... at least not to this point in the season. Would have liked for the Cats to finish the last 3 minutes of the game a little better.

* The Cats ball movement in the 2nd half was much better ... the dribble drive was effective. Not sure why ASU didn't stay in zone and pack it in and prevented those UK drives. Cats much more assertive and aggressive in the 2nd half.

* Lee and Poythress with their experience both with good games today. Arguably our two best bigs right now - we need both in the game against physical teams. Thought Willis gave us some good minutes and Matthews gave some good minutes. Briscoe had a nice run in the 2nd half and is scrappy ... has to develop the jumper and the FT's.

* Skal, very skilled, but clearly has a long ways to go. His lack of strength and leverage in the lower body is a liability that he has to figure out how to overcome.

* IMO, we really need for Ulis and Murray to both be ready and willing to take the open 3. I see too much hesitation in that aspect of our half court offense, particularly in the 1st half. When we play aggressive looking for the shot (rather than hesitant) we become a much more difficult team to defend. We saw Ulis refuse to take some open 3's today in the first half - can't be that way. I would like to see Murray be a catch, go straight up, and knock it down shooter first, and if that is not available, then drive to rim .. he can do both. His 3pt % when he is ready, catches, and goes straight up is good.

* Up Next: Cats vs. Ohio State in Brooklyn. Another game the Cats should win. Time to get the academics in order and get better in practice.
