Then you add to this Scangerello blaming his receivers for making the wrong read and Will saying they don't pay attention to detail and you get to the root of the problem, which is the finger pointing has gone PUBLIC. This means the wheels have come off of the ENTIRE offensive unit.Seemed that he's wrapped up the season as well.
Disturbed, defeated.
'Haven't been able to...' reach? Fix? Inspire?
Frustrated
In all fairness, multiple times today I saw Levis leaving the field bitching to a receiver for running the wrong route. Maybe the offense is too complicated and that is the problem, but there is plenty of blame to go around and with young receivers, mistakes happen. The one sack late in the first half where the guy came untouched was squarely on CRod. He got stuck behind the tackle and didn't pick up the blitz and we had a couple of guys open. Then you add to this Scangerello blaming his receivers for making the wrong read and Will saying they don't pay attention to detail and you get to the root of the problem, which is the finger pointing has gone PUBLIC. Will can't place ANY blame on Scang because he helped hand pick him for the job.
Coach Stoops needs to clean house!!!
Our oline coach accepted an assistant high school coaching job just four years ago. His three years at Kansas was 3-33. How good do you think he was. He's a buddy hire.In all fairness, multiple times today I saw Levis leaving the field bitching to a receiver for running the wrong route. I realize that if the kids consistently perform poorly, that is a good sign that they weren't prepared properly. But, If they are told what to do and then don't do it, that is on them.
Having said all of that, this has definitely been a disappointing season. I didn't realize our OLine would suffer as bad as it did losing the guys we lost. I thought we had more talent in the stable. Evidently the big kid from Charlestown isn't doing what he needs to do to get on the field, but we could use his help.
Will might get hurt worse next week.
May well be. I didn't say he did a good job. I think all coaches need to be evaluated. At their salaries, players need to get better weekly under their watch. But, they are coaching kids, and if you've ever done it, kids are difficult to coach. The beauty of being a D1 SEC coach is that you can replace kids that don't take to coaching. Our oline coach accepted an assistant high school coaching job just four years ago. Comments are online, look it up.What excuses did Stoops have in the post game comments?
