* Just when we think the Cats might have turned the corner ... we get this. Given how the game played out, that's as bad a loss as I can recall. Inexcusable. I feel like I just watched the UK-UL football game this year.

* Cats outscored 71-43 the last 25 or so minutes of the game, by Tenn. Wow. The Cats went from a cohesive, confident team the first 15 minutes to an increasingly panicked individual team as the game went on the final 25 minutes. They went from an aggressive, confident team to a wide-eyed, cotton mouthed, team in a period of just a couple of minutes. We completely reverted. This loss isn't just on the players, Cal has to own part of this one. You don't lose a 21 point lead where you are dominating the game. You have to use some timeouts and make some adjustments to stop that mess at the end of the 1st half. Can't let that happen.

* Apparently, Poythress must be pretty important to this team. He has definitely upped his game. His (+) tonight was a lot more than anyone else.

* While losing a 21pt lead is inexcusable, I thought the game was terribly, and disruptively, officiated. Way, way, too many touch fouls called that have no bearing at all on the play that disrupt the flow and outcome of the game. A lot of bad whistles tonight.

* This is another haunting loss by the Cats. Had they won this game in light of their recent play and gotten on a roll, their NCAA seed may rise up to that 3 or 4 range. As it is, you can't ignore some of the losses the Cats have had, and may still yet have. The Cats, unfortunately, are probably going to earn a not very pretty NCAA seed and path in the tournament.

* Up Next: Cats vs. Florida on Saturday afternoon. Every home game is a must win at this juncture. After the last two games, the Cats look physically and emotionally spent. Better recover quick.
