* Tremendous win for the Cats against an outstanding Notre Dame team that played exceptional tonight. Both teams had a will to win and the Cats just make one more play than the Irish to win a trip to the Final Four.
* Even though the score was tight throughout the game, it was a tale of two halves for the Cats. In the first half, the Cats did not shoot the ball well, had some unforced turnovers, and seemed a bit nervous. Despite that, it was still tied at the half. In the second half, it was a different story, the play by both teams was at a very high level. The Cats jump out to a 5pt lead only to see one of those quick Irish 13-4 runs. After that point in the 2nd half, the Cats would make a bucket and the Irish would answer ... one after another. There were numerous big buckets by both teams in that second half punch, counterpunch.
* The Irish never relented the lead until Aaron hits his big three, only to be immediately followed by a three from Grant at the end of the shot clock. In the end, the difference in the game was 2 or 3 missed FT's by the Irish and 9 consecutive made shots by the Cats to close the game to get back tied and win at the end.
* The fact that the Cats were able to largely take away the Notre Dame made 3's was a big factor, but the Irish ability to work the clock, pass the ball, and make opportune shots was very impressive. The Cats will to not give up in light of that, more impressive.
* Andrew may have went to the rim a little early there at the end to give the Irish one last chance, but Aaron delivered on two FT's.The final shot by Grant, triple covered by three Cats with Willie, Harrison, and Lyles ... and he still gets the shot off on line but too long.
* Towns was incredible in the 2nd half. Irish had no answer for KAT.
* To win the title, you are usually going to have a game or two like this along the way. Huge win for the Cats.
* Up Next: Cats vs. Wisconsin in the Final Four. Wisconsin shot the ball unbelievably well from 3pt line against Zona. They do that again, they are going to win games. Zona in either of the other two regions goes to the Final Four, they and Nova should have been switched. As it is, the Cats face what is probably a top 2 team right now. Extremely difficult matchup for the Cats. Badgers are big, don't foul, don't turn the ball over, play great defense, and shoot the ball very well. The Cats have to play their best game of to get this win.
