* Disappointing loss today for the Cats against a bad Auburn team that was playing the game of their season. This was a road game the Cats needed to win if it hopes to get to 0.500 on the road in the SEC. Cats up 12 with 15:54 to go and get outscored by 17 the rest of the game. Just can't let that happen. We have seen this team lose leads this year, and it cost them today. Cats are consistently inconsistent. For those who bet, the Cats being a 12pt road favorite was easy money to bet against today.
* This version of the Cats are who they are ... a team that is average on the offensive end without any low post presence. We are capable of beating a lot of teams, but a lot of teams can beat us too. Our best post scorer might be Briscoe. The other thing that is disappointing is that other than Tyler, our players don't always play very smart. Missed lob opportunities, forced shots, bad fouls, loose with passes at times, etc ... Without Tyler, this team would be ugly to watch.
* Auburn makes 12-26 3pt shots which is the difference (+18) in the game ... a couple of Auburn players made 5-5 that are 25% shooters. Canty makes some ridiculous 3's that get Auburn back in the game 5-7 minutes into the 2nd half, some shots that were arguably bad shots, but he made 'em. Also thought that Canty got away with several off arm push offs that weren't called offensive fouls.
* Willis had a good game ... our best player in the 1st half ... still missed some open shots there in the 2nd half though. Murray started hot ... but cooled off (8-22) while Auburn made the run in the 2nd half.
* Ulis almost has a triple double and played a gutsy game ... but also struggled to make shots today going 5-17 and 0-3 from 3pt. Thought he got fouled a few times inside but didn't get the calls.
* Up Next: Another road game against Arkansas on Thursday night. With the Cats NCAA seed already on the downhill slide with some bad losses on their resume, road victories are going to become vital.
