* Late in getting to this ... but clearly that was a disappointing loss by the Cats to an average Ohio State team. Cats repeatedly made poor decisions on the offensive end of the floor failing to take advantage of scoring droughts and turnovers by OSU that allowed the Cats to get into too deep a hole to dig out of.

* Skal ... long way to go, might be better used as a face-up 4 at this point ... put him on the high post and shoot the jumper and have Lee and Poy down low. Be inclined to give Humphries some of Skal's minutes ... it worked against Duke.

* As has been stated previously, Murray is a very good catch and shoot player. When he goes straight up he can knock it down. It's when he is on the move and shoots an off balance shot that he is ineffective.

* Ulis has to be able to hit the 3pt shot if he is going to help take pressure off of the inside game and Murray.

* Briscoe has got to be able to make FT's or he hurts the team. He also takes some shots that he has no chance of making.

* There is only so much on the offensive end that we are going to get out of Lee and Poythress. They are who they are at this point in their college career. They are not go-to players but rather players that can convert on lobs and put backs. We don't have a go-to post presence ... at least not at this point.

* Because of our lack of size with 3 guards on the floor, our margin of error is very narrow both offensively and defensively. We are not going to out rebound teams which means we have to be able to out-execute teams and out scrap teams ... which means that you are simply going to lose some games this year since that isn't always going to work.

* Thought the plays of the game were when Alex misses the front end of the one and one, and the loose ball at midcourt where Murray inexplicably didn't pick the ball up which led to an intentional foul be Ulis ... that was the ballgame. OSU was ready to cede the lead and the Cats didn't grab it.

* Up Next: Cats vs. UL in Rupp next Saturday. I have been of the mind the last 3 weeks that this may be the year that Pitino gets the win. It will take the Cats best effort of the year to get this win. The Cats can certainly get the W, but they are going to have to fight and scrap and execute and grow up in a hurry if they expect to get this win.
