I've read a lot recently about post count. I've watched the arguments for and against chastising posters with low post counts. Without re-starting that debate, my question is, how many posts do you have to not be a "low post count" guy?

Looked it up, it's 745.

1 less than the person Making the comment! Lol

Seriously though, good question. My post count is low because as I get older I prefer to just read. On former boards under another name not available here I posted much more frequently. I see a few fly by posters with low post counts that give justification for the low post comments but I see a number of posters with many posts who are no better. Sometimes the reference to a low post count are valid, other times it is the only response another poster has when they simply don't like or disagree with the comment.

Say smart things and don't be a jerk and you can have 50 posts. Nobody will care.

Constantly come with a negative slant and people will never like you.

I mean, if you're bad you're bad, and starting 10 threads a day to get your post count up won't change that.

My post count is low because I usually write a post, then say 'f- it' and delete it.

Been posting since around 01 -02 when this was just a chat room and there are posters on here that started posting last year that have more posts than me. It doesnt matter but Im guesing 1000 will silence the critics.

I started posting on this board when it was an actual bulletin board. Back then it was more about thumbtack style than post count. After all these years, I'm only at 6k. It's more about what you say, not how many times you say it.

The absolute worst poster on here but is now mainly on HOB is Vandalay and he's got over 20,000 post and doesn't even try to hide his true feelings about UK, and is ALWAYS taking up for rivals, rival posters while bashing UK fans! Some of the best post are from New posters. Most know to look at content not post counts.

Lol, bbblazing back in the house. As for the whole post count thing, if someone calls you a troll for a low post count and you take it personal you might want to seek help. The rafters know that your not a troll op. You are in the rafters hof will your last meltdown post after we lost. Post in peace.

Doesn't matter. There are only a small handful of posters that actually contribute here.

There has been legitimate info passed off here by someone with only a couple hundred posts before.

There are also a multitude of members who have > 5000 posts and have contributed absolutely nothing but personal attacks, emotion based comments and conjecture.

Post what you want. If you post negative you will be called a troll.
If you attack people without refuting their post, you will be a homer.

Who cares what others think how many posts you have to have to avoid being criticized for a low post count? Their opinion is not more worthy than your own. Post what you like regardless of post count just be prepared to defend what you post and follow the rules set out by the owners of this site. . This message board stuff is supposed to be fun. Don't let the arrogant self appointed message board post police deter you.

Right, it's not the SIZE of your post count, its how you USE IT.
At least, that's what my virtual girlfriend tells me.

Contra-positively, everything I've ever said IS worthwhile and I'm always accused of great posting. Weird huh?

Head over to the test board and post garbage until you reach HOF status and you immediately become a genius.

Been on here for about 6 years. Never posted anything note worthy. Don't care what others thought. My only goal is to pass Don on post count, then I'll be famous.

I've been on here for probably 10 years and have less than 5k posts.

I can't tell you how many times I've typed something out, re-read it and decided to delete it instead of posting it.

Some people (like myself) only post when they have something to say that they believe is relevant to the conversation.

Some posters (like Don) post a lot and always have some good to say.

Some posters post a lot and say a whole lot of nothing...

I'd think that after a few hundred posts, it can be established that someone is a real Cat fan and is relatively intelligent.

I've seen lots of turds pop up to stir the pot over the years and that's why many of us are weary of posters with low post counts.

The best way to spot a troll is the post count.

A large post count means you have been a round a long time.

I take note of the post count before responding. Sorry but that is what I do.

Post count doesn't mean as much to me as it seems to some others. I've read posts on here that I felt were outstanding, and commented on them, from posters with a very low count. And, I've read some real trash from posters who have been around awhile. It just depends on what you are contributing to the board, in my mind, and if you are also respectful of others and what they have to say. Having said that, I can understand those who label someone a troll who has a low post count and is just starting threads or adding to threads with the obvious purpose of criticizing anything UK or trying to antagonize UK fans. Those are the obvious "low post" count people that are very annoying.

I'll read what the post says first. If it's respectful and makes sense, then I never look at the post count at all. If, however, I get that "WTF?" feeling, I'll look to the post count to see if it's low or not.

Post count doesn't matter. I post however I feel, whether its positive or negative. There are way too many people on here with blue glasses that can't handle anything negative and lash out. I just ignore them. I've found that most UK fans I meet everyday feel the same way as I do about most things.

It's pretty childish to call someone out on post count.
If you have a different point of view, discuss that in a civil manner.
If you can't do that you have a problem no matter if your post count is low or high.

Some folks post an awful lot but actually say very little.
Amen to that. I have app 600 post in about 8/10 years and feel as if I have said as much as some with 6000.

Okay if you have another opinion.

Quality over quantity some moron spammed the hell out of the test board to go over 10000 posts of course he is on my ignore list now.

I used to be a pay member,
once they had a thread on HOB about the shield beside the posters name, and the number of months it showed.
There were two posters whose shield indicated that they had been paying members for 5 yrs and 7 yrs and they made
their first post with a simple "shield check", just to see how long they had been members......
Both had been paying members for years and hadn't even posted once till that thread, several others had less than 100 after being members for several yrs as well.

This thread caused me to notice my Gold Shield is at 200 Months...which is going on 17 years. That just doesn't seem possible -- That's nearly half of my life. (I'm 35)
