Position rankings in the SEC by SDS----

Probably nothing more than a summary of the street talk about the SEC, but some info and a subject for conversation.

SDS suckles at the teat of Auburn, Bama, and LSU. It would be interesting discussion if we weren't ranked below 10th best in every category.

If they think we are, on average, 11th best team in the SEC this year they are crazy!!!! I know we will beat Vancy and USCjr this year. Most likely beat UF and Missouri so that is 4 teams we are better than. Then throw in a couple bottom guys in the other division and that puts 6 teams below us with ease.

This is the year to shut up the haters!!!!!

They're not even trying over there. 12th best WR corp is just a ridiculous joke. I understand that we didn't get a ton of eye popping #'s from guys last year but I guarantee some guys on that list didn't have huge numbers either. By the end of the year we'll have a top 5 group of WR's, maybe higher. I expect Timmons, Johnson, Baker, Badet and maybe even Montgomery to get on some postseason lists. Bet we have 1 1st team All-SEC guy.

The only one I thought was fair was QB. Ranked us 5th. RB was probably close at 8th, I'd probably put us at 6 or 7, lotta great RBs in this league.

Looks like Georgia's year though, they've got a ton of talent everywhere but QB. But if you can stop that juggernaut running game, you got a shot at least.

Its gonna be awesome in the coming years when UK becomes so good that these jackasses can't rate UK so low on things as they always do. Probably would give them brain aneurysms to rank us high in something.

It may not be a very reliable source but I didn't think I would ever see the day when any ratings "guessing service" showed us above Florida in most of the categories, also USC about the same. Very encouraging to me, had a hard time believing all the forecasts of a victory over Florida, TALENT has always been our big problem against teams like them and USC.

And I think they underrated us in several categories, but the one they rated us highest in is the most important position. I think they really underrated our special teams, didn't even mention our punter.

I think they missed on us in several catagories too. RB and LB units are very good and very deep and are best in conference I think. But not so sure about the OL and speical teams, both are good, but not sure if they are that good. The other areas I think they probably got us pretty close.

That site has really become a joke..They focus on the name on the front of a player's jersey, not the back..in their minds they think that if a guy plays for Kentucky he's automatically inferior to a guy that plays for Tennessee or Florida

If you follow their website you'll that 90% of their articles are about either Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas or Tennessee, and if you go look at their "writers" and see which teams they cover and where they're from you can see why

A couple of weeks ago they predicted that UK would only win five games this year..last year they predicted us to win three and halfway through the season it was funny because they started pumping us up and kept trying to say that Stoops was going to leave because he didn't like being overshadowed by Calipari

At qb we could be rated about where we should be, but I still think our guy is the qb with the most potenial and this will be the year it shows on the field.

We have a QB who most people are saying is the best pro prospect in the SEC and one of the best pro prospects in the country. Most are worried he will go pro after this season yet they are not ranking him in the top 2?!?!?!?!?! Why should we care about this stupid ratings they do?

That's the highest I've seen anybody rank Towles. Putting him ahead of Dobbs and (B.) Allen? I'm not sure he's earned that yet.

I think this is closer to reality. At least based on performance to date. Towles won't have to be Joe Montana this season to climb these lists quickly.

Our WR ranking seems too low to me, but other than that cant complain much. Reading the LBs names together made me feel better about the position, we just need Hatcher to keep his head on straight and Ware to be a quick learner, on paper it is a pretty talented bunch.
