Poor Coaching

I agree. There is no other explanation. And it's totally unacceptable. This to me is the beginning of the end of the Stoops era. You simply can not suceed here if you can't compete with Eastern, Western and Louisville. So far Stoops is 0-4 against instate schools. That's ridiculous. And what's worse is how totally unprepared for the game we are tonight. 1 or 2 good games followed by a 7 or 8 game tail spin isn't going to cut it. We are not even competitive with our instate directional schools. And it's not improving.

This is why people don't want to spend money to go see this. I'll keep waiting until they actually go after the best available coach, instead of taking nice guys learning on the job.

Pretty horrible that he publicly says he's gonna get a ton of subs in the game prior to. If I was EKU that's easy motivation when the other team's coach isn't taking you seriously, which is one thing, but another thing to say it to the media. Dumb.

Either way, this is on him and I'm not sure he can coach.

Absolutely. I think he probably cautioned his team so much during the week about not allowing what happened last year to carry over to the game that he completely took the fight out of this team. He also said Barker would play in this game no matter how the game was going. Where is he?

We will not go bowling this year if we lose this game.

Worse than that. Stoops is done if we lose. We are 26 point favorites. You don't even win these games close and hope to survive. This will be Stoops' Garder Webb.

Hopefully they can pull this out. If not, this year is screwed.

You're crazy if you think Stoops is gone if we lose this game. He's the man for this job but he fell asleep at the wheel this week.

I agree. Stoops will not be here long. This game proves it beyond a doubt. There is something fundamentally wrong with a team that doesn't even show emotion and doesn't care about this game whatsoever. What a joke.

Absolutely no reason to come out that bad in all 3 phases. CMS and the coordinators better have learned more than the players this game.

Hahaha love you guys. Keep up the entertainment.
.
To be honest, we didn't seem prepared this game at all. Maybe it is not on the coaches but there were so many things that EKU did on both sides of the ball, they certainly seemed to execute their game plan better.

We weren't prepared. The players over looked EKU and maybe the coaches did as well. I know the players did though because of the effort. EKU was focused and dialed in and executed. We are fortunate that we turned on the switch at the end. We are 4-1 and moving on to the next one.

Leading up to this game, as I have said in six threads (as someone reminded me, and thanks again) that our coach shouldn't tell our players not to disrespect our opponent as he did, when he told them, in essence, that they couldn't play with us.....

You're wrong about bad coaching though... He said they practiced hard all week... Good coaching.... There were no bad decisions tonight... Good coaching.... There were nothing during the game that would stick out and tell you that Stoops is a bad coach... So that is just silly...

Everyone in this thread needs to take an ambien. Jesus

I hate to sound like I'm bitching, as we are 4-1, but please. Stoops isn't a great in game coach. Love the guy, and he's got lots of time to improve, but right now it's not there. As a matter of fact, the lair is pretty much in agreement for the most part that his in game coaching is questionable. His preparation is questionable as well. The SEC seems to be way down right now, so that's helping this situation. Had Stoops played to win, we'd probably be 5-0 right now. With what we are, that's incredible.

Can't argue here. If nothing else Stoops should realize that PT can't lead the team on offense. But tonight the whole team was outplayed in every aspect. EVERY ASPECT.
Not very hard to see who the real losers are. On a night when we are in 2nd place in the SEC East, 5 points away from being undefeated, the 1 loss coming to a ranked, undefeated team, this is the kind of loser crap you guys come up with. The football IQ of some of our chicken scat fans on display again. This game was a subpar performance, played without Boom, MacGinnis, and 40% of our starting offensive line. Ware, Badet, and Juice missed about half of the game. The 2 interceptions were passes that should not have been thrown, but the kid came back with a couple of his best receivers on the bench and won the game. For those of you who haven't boned up on football lately, the object is to win. You seem to think our players must play perfect every week, and our opponents are just supposed to lay down. But we are 4-1 going into a bye week. Some of you sound like we are 1-4. Please go cheer for Louisville and give the rest of us a break.
