Pookie Jones’ son Jacob

I also remember the size of his heart and his will to win.

I prefer to remember that.

Size of hands you have no control over.

Heart and hustle can't be measured. Pookie had plenty of both.....and a good character guy from all indications.
Didn't say Jones had none of which you speak, he certainly did. But the wrap on him was that his small hands didn't allow for proper grip on the ball to make throws. One of those unfortunate things.

I remember running into him after he graduated. He was absolutely shitfaced and tried to get into our vehicle lol. We would have taken him anywhere he wanted to go. He was another athlete that was not utilized correctly by the coaching staff at the time.

And it was horse sht. One of the best passers I've seen up close. He had no problem delivering the ball with velocity or touch. The "problem" had more to do with the option than it had to do with him as a passer. Even then it was an innacurate claim.

Kid isn't playing qb in college at a high level. He has a nice arm, and nice legs, but he is not accurate and runs way too soon.

So are you saying he can’t be coached up. I know a guy who has been to a lot of games say he is the best player he has seen by far.

Got to know Pookie at a gym years ago when I still lived in Lex. Super guy. Helped me w the insurance when I bought my first car and did great job. Still a Shelter customer to this day.

I have been to more games, I promise. He was shut out last week by a so/so Madison Southern defense. Very few 1st downs at that with a bout a 40% completion, none of those long one. As a qb he could play at a lower level, but not Div 1.

The whole football universe screams that Curry couldn't coach.
Nice man. I guess that counts for something.
We had a standout FCA chapter during his tenure. That must count for something, right? Oh, wait. The Lord just reminded me he was supposed to be building a football program. Nevermind.
