I personally believe it does I believe come Friday 1:31 pm will have these letters strapped across DAMIEN'S chest K-E-N-T-U-C-K-Y DAMIEN (aka HERSCHEL WALKER) will be a program changer

I truly believe that if he is as half as successful as Chubb was his freshman season then 2015 will be a special year in KY football.
Imagine routinely looking as 2nd 4's and 5's.

Damien-think of Randall Cobb. He is incredibly successful and UK gave him his start.
Randall is a hero for life in Kentucky. If you come to UK-you will be a hero for life also.
At other big schools like Bama where STARS are so thick they don't even allow you to have your name on the back of the jersey. that's because you are just a number, not an individual. they will forget your name quickly.
At Lexington, no football fan will forget you.

Well, on the surface. where he's announcing and who will be there looks favorable for us. But you can never be certain. The 4 star LB from Boyle County a few years ago likewise announced at his school and with a bunch of UK affiliated media present, yet he chose USC. So that alone isn't a guarantee.

That said, just based on feel alone, right now I think it is 60/40 Kentucky/Alabama. I don't think Ohio State is really much of a factor at all. Damien has a good relationship with the coaches here, he can see that this program is on the rise, he can stay close to home and still compete against SEC competition and all of his friends and family seem to be trying to persuade him to attend UK. I think all of those things will make it hard for him to choose Bama over UK, even with everything Bama has to offer.

But we won't know for sure until he makes his announcement. I sure hope UK is the choice. That would make this one helluva good week for UK football. Keeping our stud recruiter and landing the biggest stud recruit from this state since Tim Couch would be one terrific week.

Had to read the poll carefully. When I first clicked on this thread, I thought it was a poll asking "do you think Harris will pick UK?"

Now that I did a double take, I don't hink it matters much about the setting. Plenty of HS kids throughout the nation announce other schools in front of biased fanbases.

JMO, I think if Damien was go to leave the state, he would have announced at the all American game. Like I said jmo.

I'm probably reading a little too much into it, but his main picture on Twitter now is of him and Blake Barnett from the All-Star game. It's probably nothing though, but he has talked about Alabama a lot lately and hasn't mentioned UK a whole lot. Who knows, he might be trying to throw people off.

That was the same thought that I had. I feel he is UK bound but will have to wait for his announcement on Friday.

If he picks UK it will literally be awesome. I remember how exciting it was when John Wall committed to UK. It would have that same type of effect on future recruits etc.

I dont think we will start plucking 5 star recruits all the time by any means, but if he picks UK it could sort of cause a "domino effect" where other highly rated recruits at least consider UK and some eventually choose UK.

I was wrong on Marrow (thank God) and while I still think he picks Bama I will gladly eat crow for going 0/2 if Harris commits to UK!

This is just my opinion but it seems really logical to me. Before I give my opinion I have to give FACTS. Fact is he's a great 5 star football player. Fact is he's an even better human being. I believe he's the class president and won homecoming king. Not that those things matter that much other than they back up the fact that this kid is solid as a rock as a person in addition to his football skills. That's why this is my opinion: He knows the entire BBN are hanging on his every move and he's announcing his decision at his school for all of the BBN to see and he'll be in front of a lot of UK hardcore fans. That's why I say he chooses UK. Maybe I'm wrong and I sure don't have anything to go on other than what I see. But I can't see him putting on this big show only to let everyone down. Best of luck to him wherever he goes but I think it's UK.

That's what Matt Jones said on his show the other day. Really doesn't matter since I was just trying to prove a point. The kid is someone any parent would be proud of and it seems like as level headed as he is that he would have handled this with less fanfare if he wasn't coming to UK. I think most UK fans would be happy for him if he goes to Bama but he shouldn't do it this way if he's going elsewhere.
