Was reading a few minutes ago in a sports column that Rick Pitino is the highest pd. coach in 2017 i thought Coach K. and then Coach Cal. was the highest is this correct.

Calipari is making 7.75miliion next year, and 8 million every year after that. Pitino makes 5.0 something, but he does have retention bonus added in, not sure what it breaks down to. Pitino has a 10 year deal worth 50 Million +7.5 million total in retention bonus, 57.5million roughly 5.8 million a year average, Calipari is on a 7 year deal worth 54 million. 7.71 million.

Rick's retention bonus kicks in every three years, so depending on when he gets it, he could possibly make more money in that year than Calipari, but Calipari's contract pays more over the course of the contract.
